Band Hero is coming to the Nintendo DS this fall and, yes, you’ll be able to play drums and, double yes, there will be an actual drum peripheral for your DS. Nothing too fancy, just something called the “drum grip” that fits over the DS’ buttons and D-pad. Oh, and as luck would (not) have it, the drum grip won’t work with the DSi. So there’s that.
The included guitar add-on won’t work either — apparently the DSi is just too dainty to be able to support such accoutrements. So DSi gets you DSiWare and a camera and all that good stuff, while DS Lite gets you full Band Hero peripheral support. Oh, and Beyonce!

The DSi is the superior console if you didn’t know. Wow it can’t use a few periferals but it’s a matter of time before the DS developers start using the DSi’s extra power and find a way to make peripherals specifacally for the DSi . Yes it’s more powerful, it has twice the CPU clock speed and 4x the RAM. The developers are probably just waiting for the DSi to get a higher install base. Even Activision’s Vicarious Vision studio (you know the makers of Band Hero) admit it’s more powerful and are working on something for it that utilises it’s potential more. So ya you have your’e Band Hero and Beyonce. But soon ill have The pictures, Dsi shop, Dsi sound, the web on my DSi, The more powerful slimmer cooler console, The better more powerful version of Band Hero (or whatever they choose to do), and still have a more realistic looking BEYONCE.
