Looking for an easy way to separate two kinds of data? Maybe, business documents on one side, music on the other (business in the front, party in the back)? Quirky design might have just the product for you with the Split Stick.
Quirky will allow you to select design elements based on your particular needs, including colors, text, or icons. So say you’re a college sorority sister, and you want a giant purple double-ended USB drive for the long nights when you need to store your data, they’ve got just the thing for you. Regardless of the design you choose, the drive has two, 2 GB USB drives, with a connector on each end allowing you to choose how you separate your data. Priced at just $19.99, they are currently available as pre-sale, and will be produced once enough orders have been placed.

So basically for the price of one, I can receive two gadgets. The only question I have is how can I differentiate one side from the other, cause they look the same to me.
The icons next to the thumb slider indicate which ‘half’ of the drive is in use.
…because creating two folders for two separate types of data (priv and business) is too difficult?? Looks likes they trying a bit too hard…
Useless gadget but lovin the mullet reference.
Nice product, great company name
Or you could….uh…..get a 4 GB flash drive and….uh….partition it into 2 drives.
“But Caruso,” you say, “I don’t know how to partition a drive.”
Then turn in your car keys and stay away from those new fangled ‘lectric pluggy things ’cause we can’t let you out into 2009 by yourself. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that interweb thing has no information on that…what did they call it….partitioning….. Besides, it would cut into forwarding cat pictures and crappy jokes to my email 327 times a day.
Sheesh.
WIN!
Not to mention that you have to unmount one “side” to access the other. This might possibly be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of, and I had 8-tracks and a Pinto.
USB drives are the wave of the future. They will get crazier with designs and working mechanisms as we go along.
