“There was a boy tending the sheep who would continually go up to the embankment and shout, ‘Help, there’s a wolf!’ The farmers would all come running only to find out that what the boy said was not true. Then one day there really was a wolf but when the boy shouted, they didn’t believe him and no one came to his aid. The whole flock was eaten by the wolf.”

Bungie has said that Halo: Reach will be the last Halo game it works on for the Xbox 360.

Says a Bungie senior designer:

In terms of a platform for Halo games made by Bungie, yes. I can’t answer that question for Microsoft though. Whether they have something in the works or not, I don’t know if they’re actually ready to talk about it yet, but in terms of Bungie-produced Halo games, ODST and then Reach is probably all you’re going to get.

can’t blame em. They’ve been at it practically forever in terms of the gaming industry.

  • what is reach supposed to be about and. Do u really think that halo is going to stop like that. I mean look at call of duty all the games it has. And bit to mention tom Clancy’s rainbow games. Oh and I heard there’s sposed to be a halo movie.. Is that true?

  • Halo is growing into a tv show this fall.. So the universe is still growing.. Time is now to purge Bungie.. Pay off key players to jump ship and reform under a new name.. You dont think that MS forgets the games Bungie played (at just the right time)… No way MS will let THEIR golden goose be held hostage again.. This was a given and the Bungie folks know full well what was going to happen when the contracts run out.. MS owns the content and every bit of the code.. Bungie played its card and now its MS turn.. Letting Bungie break the news that the sky is blue is pure business… after all MS still owns 49% and dont want them to fail.. but the Halo relationship is over.
