This dainty-hoofed droid has the gait of an octogenarian jogger, the face of Asimo, and the recovery ability of BigDog. Yeah, that’s not a scary combination.
The good news is that it isn’t stable at more than 7 km/h. If you can run faster than that, you’re all right. But if it has a rifle attached to its head, you’re out of luck. And believe me, it’s going to have a rifle attached to its head.
This robot will become our trainer in the future.
Impressive. I wonder though how it fairs being pushed while it’s feet are still. Having to job on the spot like that is quite a waste of not only power but also the lifespan of it’s components.
I hope they eventually release some footage of it on uneven ground. By the look of it though, it can’t lift it’s feet very high off the ground.
