There are no new ideas left in the world, ladies and gentlemen. Today, Joby announced the Gorillamobile, a variant of their iconic bendable tripod thingies for mobile phones and other handheld gadgets. At first I was all “Oh yeah, that’s great!” And then I remembered Gorillapod Go-Go! suction cups and a small part of me died inside.

I bought one of those for my Flip video camera. It uses the little screw mount but also came with a suction cup for mobile devices.
The suction cup thing doesn’t work too well. I’ve had my mounted iPhone like the picture in your post and the darn thing fell off after an hour. I tried it a few more times and it kept falling off.
