Creative made a small splash the other day when the Zii project broke cover. It very well could be the first, real iPod touch competitor thanks to Android and impressive hardware. Here’s two more videos showing off the Zii. The one above is an impressive game demo that demos the accelerometer and the one after the break gets into the nitty-gritty about the hardware.

  • Folks, you have to be VERY careful with anything like this from Creative. They’re hyper-into DRM! Almost as much as Apple and Sony. When I found out they made a Zen player with a flash card slot I ordered one. Then I found out I couldn’t really play anything on the flash card. Instead I had to load the incredibly large DRM riddled bloatware from Creative on my machine to pipe content by cable to the limited internal memory; only from there would it play. Then I found out all Creative products with removable storage are like this. When I complained to Creative – they basically ignored me.

  • I’ve been dealing with creative products for yrs now and still own a creative pmp and not 1 has ever wanted me to load bloat ware or even said anything about drm..trust me creative hardware was always reliable, easy to install, and loud..

  • @Drone – Huh, I don’t understand. Creative don’t force you to use iTunes like Apple and most of its players are basically drap and drop. You can choose not to install any software on the CD. I think its a breath of fresh air this Zii thing, finally there’s a worthy competitor to the iPod touch.
