Some guy, apparently a Netflix executive, is saying that Neflix will soon stream to the Wii and to iPhones, albeit over Wi-Fi for the latter. The service will cement Netflix’s position as probably the best streaming video service in the whole wide world including parts of Middle Earth and Oz.
Not much more to say about the news but it seems that the Play Now service will work on iPhones and iPod Touches through a standalone app. You can currently modify your Netflix queue using apps like PhoneFlix and this adds the final piece of the puzzle.

Finally a use for my Wii!
Which device has better resolution between the iPhone and the Wii? How does 480i compare to standard definition?
About freaking time. :P My coworkers and I have been talking about how absolutely right and ‘natural’ it would be to see a Netflix channel on the Wii.
Netflix will need to create some abridged versions for the iphone
{yawn} I guess if my Xbox, desktop PCs and laptop PCs aren’t available this would make sense.
Unfortunately, the Wii is in the basement gathering dust, and I have too much self esteem to own an iPhone.
I would get netflix again if it’s offered on the iphone. Right now I put it off just cuz I’m not around to watch it but on the iphone, I could make some time whenever I’m traveling. http://ziggytek.com/
Ha! Do you seriously think that a netflix app will make i through the apple approval department? This would compete with itunes movie rentals and purchases, and we all know about how apple feels about competition.
Best in the whole wide world? Does this mean I can use their service in Germany?
Wonder if this will work on wi-fi enabled aircraft? That would be sweet.
It could be the best in the whole wide world but you can only use Netflix in the US.
Personally I’d like to see them enter other countries and obliterate their own netflix like services, because NF is the only one doing it well.
