Recycling cassettes seems to be a trend these days. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. After all, who among us doesn’t have a Fine Young Cannibals single that would be better suited to lamp or wallet duty? Or how about these great little Nano cases — a bit pricey, but they’re Canadian so you can pay with syrup if you have it.

I don’t think it’d be too hard to make one of these on your own with a kit of modeling tools… actually, I guarantee it wouldn’t be as good the first few tries, and you’d have to cannibalize more tapes than you wish. Yeah, you don’t really listen to the Eagles any more, especially on tape, but can you bring yourself to destroy it? Or would you rather pay 49 Maple dollars?

  • It’s a good way to dispose of them.

  • these are actually pretty cool..but I could never see myself carrying one of them around. The benefit of having the latest technology is to make things easier, slimmer, better. There’s a reason why we’ve left behind the cassette tape, now can we just leave it alone. Let it RIP. http://ziggytek.com/

    • Sure, for portable audio the cassette is no longer worth the hassle because we have such cool devices that can hold tons of music,BUT, for home listening I occasionally whip out a cassette because I still have a nice Denon deck, analog still kicks the shit out of lossy compression on my Jamo speakers & I’m not going to pay $50+ on Amazon for an “out of print” CD version of the “out of print” Kick Axe cassette that I already have.

Though, I do agree that this is some sort of attempt at making money on nostalgia and I don’t see these cases making your day any easier when trying to use the Nano.
