We know practically nothing about this machine, but from the two spy photos we can see, it looks interesting. It’s safe to assume it’s HD-capable (from the HDMI port), Blu-Ray is probably at least available as an option, and it appears to have about the same footprint as a Mac Mini. We’d guess the price to be around $500 (at least starting there) since it’s going to be competing with the Mini. No word on availability at this time, but we’ll keep you posted as more details become available.

Its going to be a Great machine!
It looks cool enough.
…if I only had the money. Please buy me one! ;)
Interesting packaging. It has an internal fan, and an external power supply.
I wonder if that is really a 9-pin serial port, or something else in disguise?
Yay! Yay! Yay!
Two things:
1.) To really screw Apple in the face, they should make it start at $299 or $399, somewhere in there.
and…
2.) Knowing most Dell computers… this thing will be able to have OS X running on it pretty much straight out of the gate.
All I can say… I’m f*cking psyched for this!
Well if you could buy one with Ubuntu Pre installed then this would be a cool machine …. knowing how Dell is that wont be an option …. I guess I will pay the extra $$$ and get a Mac …. Got to give Apple a hand they have got Rock Solid computers. and the Mac mini has got plenty of juice to run any Vid you throw at it.
Winders 7 is gonna be just like vista … new this new that …. same box of $hit
Once you go Mac you never go back
Macbook pro 2.6
Emac 1.2 (used as a media center at the moment)
i don;t think that 7 will be anthing like vista.
it will be SO MUCH BETTER! however i ‘m looking at buying a Macbook(polycarbonate) and just dualbooting with 7 and (Snow) Leopard.
Because you’ll be able to get a Mac with Linux on it??
Watch out! Mac drone!
It is an HD player capable of playing Blu-ray files and other media file formats such as mkv, mts, avi etc. i have a similar one, but without the disc drive. bought if for $400 with a 1.5TB harddrive included. It’s a pretty cool machine, the ports are for usb thumb drives or external hdd where you can also play your videos from. obviously, dell just branded this machine. by the way, the lan port is for downloading torrents directly.
I was looking for a PC with Mac Mini footprint to use as a media PC….this just looks like the right one out of the box!
the rear view shows there are usb ports also.
Nope, it is a variant of AMD Maui platform. The 9 pins female will be used for 7.1 channel speakers, it is capable for terestrial digital TV (DVB-T and ATSC, including wireless LAN/bluetooth. I’m not sure about the processor but it could be 45 nm AMD Athlon dual core and 785G.
Please let it have nVidia 9400 and not some pos intel GMA…PLEASE!
It is not a PC….. it’s an hd media player.
Do some research before you make statements like that. YES it is a PC, the title even says baby Dell HTPC (Home Theater PC) While yes, most people will use it to play media files, its still a AMD CPU powered PC shipped with Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Looks nice and will undoubtedly out-perform the MAC mini (which chokes when trying to play high-end HD content – 1080p x264 MKV). The little MAC is good enough for iPod video res, but nothing more.
“Once you go MAC, you never go back”???
LOL… stupid shit
I’ve gone mac several times and it still sucks!
first pc was an appl IIe then bought several macs along the years and went through all Windows OS… Windows is still the best! hands down!
