We’ve heard real good things about the HTC Touch Pro 2. The 3.6-inch WVGA screen is good, the slide-out keyboard is apparently awesome and HTC once again shipped a great skin for Winmo 6.1. It’s just too bad that at $349, it’s the most expensive handset available at T-Mobile just like we feared.
This means that only die-hard Windows Mobile fans will use the quality phone. No matter how good the hardware is on the Touch Pro 2, there isn’t any reason why someone should spend an extra $150 on it over the Android-power myTouch 3G. Hopefully Verizon doesn’t make the same mistake when the Touch Pro 2 launches in a few weeks on its network.

It is too expensive to buy! I am waiting for its price drop… Maybe T-mobile can offer some long time contract to let customers to get it free?

dont worry the t mobile is going to reduce price after oct 19 to $199
Omg are u serious????how u know this???
Even if this was the best phone in the world, for free, I would not get it simply because it’s through T-Mobile. Worst service provider ever.
No reason someone would spend the extra $150?
How about:
- Bigger/Higher Resolution Screen
- Hardware keyboard (not to mention the best full QWERTY ever on a phone)
- Amazing speakerphone, conference calling abilities
- More RAM
- Better battery
Worth it, if you’re someone like me who has been waiting years for the perfect phone/pda/mp3 player combination. (headphone jack for the winnnnn!)
But still, ouch! And sorry, not on T-mobile. I’ll be buying mine on Sprint.
The T-Mobile version doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack.
He said he was buying his on Sprint, which does have the 3.5mm.
Yeah, sucks don’t it?
Nope, I’m on Verizon, and ours has it too. Bout time CDMA users didn’t get screwed! :)
I’ve had this phone for about 2 months now and it’s really a crappy phone. The screen is amazing for watching videos… one of the best screens ive ever seen on a cell phone… but the damn windows OS really bogs this phone down to no end.
It’s also pretty heavy to be lugging around in your pocket but i guess thats not a big deal because it is a multimedia phone. if this had android on it then the phone would be amazing but seriously windows just slows this thing down to a crawl even with nothing but the stock programs installed. Maybe its Vista :x
Well, the nice thing about Winmobile is it can be tweaked and tweaked and tweaked until it is lean and mean. Don’t despair, just do a little leg work.
Is it possible that T-mobile simply doesn’t want to move any Winmo phones? It certainly seems to me that T-mobile has devloped a love affair (and rightfully so) with Android, but they may have been contractually obligated to carry the TouchPro 2. What better way to discourage any more Winmo handsets than to just overcharge for them (pricing wouldn’t be part of any standing agreements with phone manufacturers), and watch them fail.
I think, and hope, that what we’re seeing here is T-mobile making a clear statement that they don’t want to provide support for any more Winmo machines. Now if they’d just pick up the Hero…
everybody here do not worry if u want to buy an htc touch pro 2 hold on for two weeks the price is going to change on oct 19 to $199
maybe they are lying cuz its still $349 and i want that fone so bad
