Ahhh, Apple. Their followers are always fanatical, spending days dreaming away when and what the next product announcement will be. I bet Dell and HP wish they had this kind of following. Since September is typically when Apple announces their new products, the webs are all abuzz with people guessing what new shiny thing will be coming out. Some are even writing wish lists, but of course like an abusive parent, Apple will snub them and ignore their cries for attention.
I have to say however, that I do agree with some of the things that Macworld is hoping for. Personally, I’d love to have a “watch folder” feature, since I convert video to my iPod all the time. Don’t particularly care about the SD vs. HD thing, and I already have my library running on my NAS.
So Scott, I hope you’re right. It’d be nice to see a new version of iTunes come out. I just hope you aren’t disappointed when Daddy Steve ignores your cries.

Speaking of wish lists… would love to see some kind of *wish list* feature where songs/albums could be saved for purchase later.
Amen to that! Adding apps, songs, movies to a wishlist for review and/or purchase later is a much needed feature.
Like a shopping basket? You can do that you know, You enable the feature and when you see something you would be interested in you click Buy and it will add it to your basket. Then you can purchase it later.
I wish they’d just make that damn thing start up quickly.
Wish lists, wish lists. People can dream all they want. I have one dream and wish about the snide manner the authors on this site are writing anything to do with apple lately. I am mac and I am PC, I am technology, I love it I am not on one side of the fence or the other except when something is junk, but I am tired of the snideness. Please stop it and just write with a love for the tech.
joe, if you are looking for love letters to Apple, you’re reading the wrong author on the Techcrunch network. But by all means, take the high ground – all that moral backlighting makes you an easier target.
Truth to be told, I own an iPod touch. Love it. I have high hopes for iTunes 9. And if you think I’m only snide about Apple, you’re sadly mistaken.
A native itunes app for linux would be nice. I know theres songbird and banshee but they don’t have the itunes store.
Sadly, I think you’re right, Dave. Apple isn’t designing iTunes for me (though really, don’t they know who I am?!).
I just hope iTunes 9 has some significant new features (the only thing iTunes 8 added that I use is Genius… which is pretty darned cool, granted, but I crave MORE).
I’d say gee, I wish Jobs would listen to us.. and then I’m reminded of the time Homer tried to help his brother design a car.
Why follow a company who doesn’t care for what you want?
Apple is the new Microsoft, and MS is starting to act more like our old beloved Apple.
I heard rumors of blu-ray functionality…that would make me happy.
As far as I remember Jobs said Blu-ray is dead technology… wouldn’t be the first time he’s wrong tho.
Make it so that syncing works with all music devices atleast add the possibility of using plugins that would allow this.
Make it so that it will allow syncing with all msic devices, atlest add plugin support for this, If apple continues the way they are (growing that is) they will eventually be forced to do this anyway.
it,s very interesting.i enoy when i see ur page.
