I liked the Dinobots as a kid and wouldn’t mind seeing them in the third Transformers movie, but who am I kidding? I’m still unhappy with Prime’s moving lips. And for the record, I thought Revenge of the Fallen was entertaining even though Sam ends up in Prime heaven.
Anyway, comicbookmovie.com is reporting that Bay was quoted in Empire’s September issue with the following:
“They’ve never been discussed [for inclusion]” stated Bay. “I don’t like them. Actually, I hate them.”

Bay should stay as a photographer. He has great images. His editing skills are non-existent. He pretty much sucks as a director.
After the last Transformers I don’t think I will be seeing any new ones. Dino bots were a fave of many. The guy is a complete and utter moron.

The reason they said they Dinobots weren’t in the 2nd movie was they couldn’t find a reason for a dinosaur shaped Transformers and also they didn’t know how to work them into the movie, I think.
I have to admit the origin of the Dinobots in the Transformers cartoon is a little weak… it was just a passable excuse and like why would they make a dinosaur Transformers?
If they need an origin for the Dinobots for the MOVIE, I can provide one…
Dinobots were originally explorers from Cybertron, millions of years ago when Cybertron was a peaceful empire. Their ship gets damaged and they attempt an emergency landing on Earth. Unfortunately, it’s a during a period of particularly intense solar flare activity and Earth’s magnetic field is being bombard with ionized particles causing the now unshielded navagation system to go haywire, similar to what happens to Megatron when he crash landed on Earth.
They instead slam into the Earth like a meteor creating a huge dust cloud that slowly covers the Earth and kills off the dinosaurs. The explorers and the ship from Cybertron are heavily damaged. As part of the ships repair process (the emergency repair droid is located somewhere in the center of the ship, heavily fortified for just such occasion). It goes out and scans in the remaining living dinosaurs and reassembles explorers into Dinobots, but before they can be revived the power goes out and they become dormant…
…the only way to revive the explorers now requires the All-spark. They’re so heavily damaged that’s it’s affected their personality and intelligence.
Reason for having Dinobots… true fans of Transformers demand it! A way to introduce more characters from the Transformer universe. I definitely want to see Dinobots in the next movie. Dinobots aren’t very bright, but they are muscle Autobots are sorely lacking. If you have ever seen the cartoon, they touch on the fact that Autobots aren’t fighters like the Decepiticons.
In my mind, I think of Autobots as civilians from Cybertron. Where as Decepticons are from the military/warrior caste.
You will note most Decepticons transform into military vehicles like fighter jets or weapons, at least in the cartoon, whereas Autobots take the form of civilian vehicles. Megatron turns into a gun, Galvtron into a cannon, Shockwave a gun shaped cannon, etc. I’m talking about the cartoon not the movie of course.
You could also build on how the Transformers fate is more intertwined with the humans than originally thought, by touching on the fact the explorers from Cybertron cause the extinction of the dinosaurs making room for mankind to flourish. And the explorers that crash landed on Earth continue their existence as the shape of the very creatures they accidentally annihilated.
I think you can see how it all works out on various levels. That was like 10-minutes of thinking about Transformers and an hour of writing.
to build on Olen Ahkcre’s origin.. in transformers 3 more and more autobots and decepticons continue to flock to earth. the decepticons find a way to shield themselvs from detection thanks to soundwaves reconocince of the earths military tech. the autobots begin building autobot city directly over where the real life dino killing astroid is thought to have crashed.. and in the process unearth the dinobots. ratchit revives them from stasis lock and in the process discovers that grimlock has blueprints for a device locked deep in his memory (he cant access because of brain {hard drive} damage from the impact)
the device is for converting elemental powers (wind, hydro electric, solar power) and fossle fules in to energon.. thus creating the plot for the movie…. doubledealer is on earth and discovers this info and relayes it to soundwave..
the damage from the crash is particularly tramatic to the part of the dinobots brains that controll judgement, intelect, and thear equivilent of morality/ concience.. causing them to act and think more like decepticons despite being autobots.. I.E. they dont think about protecting humans caught in fights, are prone to disregard orders, and sutch causing them to have a falling out with prime.. also while in dino mode wich for them is the best mode for combat these limitations are more apparent and they become more suborn and animilistic..
megatron seses on this with opertunistic zeal sending more expendable decepticons to lure out the dinobots who are confined to a zoo like detention center as a result of thear actions.. when in the open megatron challanges grimlock for his alegance and controll of the dinobots.. he cheats and with a few cheap tricks defeats grimlock.. who then relenquishes his and the rest of the dinobots allegance to megatron.. (justification for this is an animilistic pack mentality defeating grimlock makes megatron the new pack leader)
now megatron calls on shockwave to unlock the memory of grimlock.. seeing the value of having sutch a powerfull soldier he orders that no harm come to grimlock (ensuring that shockwave is uncharicteristicly humane and doesnt just rip the hard drive from grimlock’s head)
now megatron and the rest of the decepticons go on the ofensive all of them coming out from hiding with the goal to hunt and eliminate all autobots.. and after a 5 min montauge of global conflicts all ending with autobot defeat or retreat megatron with the aid of the dinobots assult the just finished autobot city (metroplex) durring the lenghy battle it cuts away to shockwave and grimlock.. shockwave realizes inorder to recover the blueprints he needs to restore all of grimlock’s higher cognative functions ratches was unable to.. and when done grimlock remembers everything… and slickly fakes remaning loyal to the decepticons.. he goes to join the fight at metroplex.. and fakes still being dumb.. when he gets there he transforms in to t- rex mode and chomps down on megatron and flings him over to optimous.. and yells to the other dinobots “me grimlock beat megatron, me grimlock king, me grimlock say dinobots kill decepticons”)
at this point autobot city transforms from defence mode to metroplex robot mode (bigger than devistator and walks on 2 legs) and the ensuing battle kills most decepticons.. leaving only soundwave,shockwave, and starscream alive. and retreating. in the fight with megatron optimous and grimlock take turns tagteaming him.. riping his outer armor to shreds and pummeling him unreckognisable..
after the credits it cut to megarons carcas his eyes light up and he weakly mumbles “i still function” then starscream lands and with a smirk rips his head off hold it up to his face looking in the eyes and says “no you dont” and drops it to the ground and crushes it and then puts on a decepticon crown fashoned from scraps and parts of megatron.
so there in a nutshell is an entire transformers movie with all major plot points w/o any human having a central role, and with the dinobots being central charicters.. and a significant part of the movie creating a couple plot twists.. and i got a plot idea for a transformers 4 that picks right up where this oone leavs off..

Good, I’d rather he not touch them. Don’t touch the Predacons and Predaking either. Seriously, they screwed up the Constructicons in this last movie. I’m also glad there is no chance of seeing a G1 style Galvatron in the next movie. Only powered up Megatron a different color or probably with a crowned helmet with his stupid Lego Bionicle mouth.
