Sony isn’t giving up on PlayStation Home anytime soon and PS Home Online Community Specialist Locust_Star has detailed the upcoming fall update, v1.3, and it’s serious business, people, or as Locust_Star points out, “This is the for real deal upgrade!” Yeah, sure, whatever you say, dude (or dudette).
Let’s begin. Universal game launching is being deployed in v1.3 and that’s pretty damn kickass. In other words, you can launch into any PS3 game, like SFIV, Resistance 2 (I have that!), MotorStorm (I think I have this.) and Far Cry 2 directly from Home. Special icons that hover over your avatar’s head will denote titles that fully support game launching, says Locust_Star. Wait. Shouldn’t all PS3 games support that?
Anyway, there will be “varying degrees of additional multiplayer functionality built in.” It’s a smidge unclear whether or not you’ll be able to launch games that are already in the console because of the following statement: “Simply insert the disc of your choice while in Home and follow the on screen directions and you’ll be good to go.” But that would be pretty ritarded (have you seen ‘The Hangover’?) if it didn’t. Launching into the game from Home will take you directly to the start menu.
The rest is dribble about purchasing crap for your avatar, “portable objects” (whatever the fuck those are), a SingStar space and other little patches. Not a bad update, but I can’t remember the last time I even went into Home.

All I know is, Locust Star is one of the best songs by Neurosis, one of the most important bands in heavy metal.
That is all.
Wait, did PS Home launch? I totally forgot about that.
Laughing out loud. Well played, sir, well played.
I wish I could say I was joking. And I’m a Sony fanboy. Damn, Sony. How about you take the money you spent developing Home and use it to convince Nintendo to let you sell Mario Kart 64 on PSN, because when I think about gaming that’s the only game I really want to play anymore. And I don’t have it.
