You say no one is hiring right now? Blah! Microsoft is. Well, for its new retail locations at least. Right now there are spots available in the first two locations: Scottsdale, AZ and Mission Viejo, CA. I’m guessing that you better hurry up and submit your resume if you wanna work at these stores. Chances are that MS will get tons of applicants from geeks more qualified than you. But I have a question: Do you think that working at an Apple store previously will help or hurt your resume? Seriously, I’m asking. Sound off in the comments.

who knows i used to have a pc but went with mac because i was tires of my pc crashing being slow and security issues. I have an ipod touch and soon an iphone so i am not a microsoft person i am an apple person so i would never would want to work for MS the only thing that they make that is good is xbox ,zune is never going to be as popular as ipod people are turning towards mac because of the simplicity and no hassels only software like messenger word powerpoint that kind of things is good
funny how some people have no idea how to answer a simple opinion question in a forum.
I enjoy reminiscing in my consumer electronic history and then showing off my vast knowledge of corporate tools, after all that jazz to just say no. Go boost your Mac ego somewhere else.
Geniuses unite.
I hope they won’t fail as Sony stores did.
@Silvio
The Zune is actually amazing. Of course it doesn’t come close to the market share of the iPod. Just inside my home we have 2 iPods and an iPhone, not a Zune. But only once have I used a Zune since it’s so ‘rare’. The Zune, however, is an exceptional device (the new versions of course), with a square touch pad that serves as all of the keys on an iPod in a single clean square. You can swipe down, click down – whichever one fits you. And the interface is also great.
And remember – Microsoft is a company that takes things, copies them, and somehow manages to come out on top (Windows, XBox, etc.). I hope Apple wins this war, but we’ll have to wait and see:)
Ive used Unix, Linux, and Macs. But in the end if you have any common sense about how to use a computer or the internet in general Windows is the best. It has all the compatibility, if someone buys a mac because they want a “safe and easy to use computer” Their just saying “hey i don’t wanna get viruses while i browse porn.
kevin is right. always wanted to try a zune. experience apple retail will help your chances of getting hired. they are poaching managers out of the apple stores left and right. if they hire the right people (and they are shelling out to do so, apparently) these places might work. xbox is a great product.
Recruiters from Microsoft are headhunting Geniuses in Apple Stores. I can’t say more than that.
