So, the other week Game Informer published the results of a reader poll that found the Xbox 360 has a 54 percent failure rate. In typical PR fashion, Microsoft sent along the following statement to TG Daily defending the awesomeness of the Xbox 360 console.
“Microsoft stands behind the Xbox 360 as a superior entertainment console with one of the best warranties in the industry,” TG Daily was told by a Microsoft spokesperson. “We are constantly improving the design, manufacture and performance of the console through extensive testing of potential sources of any problems. Xbox 360 is pleased to maintain the title of ‘most played console’ and the vast majority of Xbox 360 customers have enjoyed a terrific gaming and entertainment experience since their first day, and continue to, day in and day out.”

Microsoft is so full of it. I had two Xbox 360 – the first one I sold – the second one has failed twice to the red rings of death. Instead of fixing the problem, they keep putting on temporary band-aids. I’m ready to switch to a Playstation 3.

I am on 360 number 4 and I still love my system. I have never paid for a repair but I know many gamers who have just had it with MS and the 360. To each there own I guess.
I’ve had 2 Xbox 360’s both had RROD failures that resulted in sending it in for warranty work. No telling if/when it will fail again.
The Xbox’s games are outstanding but I find myself eying the PS3 Slim pretty hard.
I’ve had my halo3 xbox since halo3 came out and so far no issues. But I probably don’t play it as much as the average xboxer. My ps3 gets a good workout now and again no problems there. My Wii that i got on launch day. It sits and collects dust because it’s games fail to deliver except for the 7 decent ones.
My xbox has failed twice. Once to the red ring o death, and now once to the disk tray being broken. My account got hacked the other day and I am eyeing sony’s playstation 3 very hardly. I am calling microsoft and telling them if I don’t get my account back, I am switching to PS3 because of failure rate differences. I already have the Wii witch is alot funner than I thought it would be. I am thirteen and I shouldn’t be a business kind of person right now. I wish I could just trade xbox for ps3, the easy way.

I am on my 3rd 360 the first one was returned due to a failed mod, replacement was someone else’s return, and this one is the last one.
I have had mine for over 3 yrs. the one thing that have found is inadequate cooling…..I used the XCM cooling fan mods but finally purchased a lian -li case.
makes the thing un noticeable while playing. best investment I have made for the 360.
My PS3 has had no problems nor has the wii.
The newer designs may be fine, but there is no doubt that the old motherboards had major issues with dislodging GPU chips. MS has admitted it (though not to the real extent), and paid the piper by extending its warrantee to allow exchanges on those older models. But still, it is a black eye that Microsoft could have done without. We have a 91% failure rate at the website I help run. And that does not include the multiple failures many people had in the past.

I’m currently on my 4th xbox, I got suspended from xbl the 8th of this month. And even though I was upset about the suspension I deserve it. Then I got suspended again the 14th. After e-mailing many people and calling m$ I got the reason of my suspension. It was a glitch in the system and I got suspended twice for the same bio. At first they tried to hide the truth but eventually after arguing for what it seemed like an eternity, they said that yes, it was a glitch but never the less I had sent previous negative messages (defending my self only) that also breached the code of conduct and therefor my suspension was going to stand. In not so many words they said to me that my suspension was with out a cause but because those messages that broke the code of conduct rules my suspension was going to stand. Its like getting a ticket for running a stop sing, fighting the ticket in court and winning it but then being told that since I had not use my set belt a previous time my ticket was going to stand.
So that’s it for me, I’m selling my xbox and buying a PS3 Slim!!!
Graphics problems killed my X360, I sent it to get fixed, then a couple of months later it did it again, this time out of warranty. So I went and bought an ex-display X360, replaced it with my faulty one and took it back to the shop, they accepted it so I got a free X360. Cool. The machine is naff though, not a patch on the PS3…but Sony messed up with the game situation at release, so MSFT wins, gamers lose. Such is life, maybe Sony get it right with the next gen.

i had it once, took two weeks to get everything sent and recv’d, no problems since. Didn’t cost me anything. Still has the best games and the best online experience. I’ll take the butterface whore that gives a great job rather than the pretty whore who has no idea what she’s doing.
So im a fanboy because the product that I bought actually works and I stand behind it. While the competions has a long reputation for breaking down and I was one of those dumb people who actualy would blindly defend it just out of emabarasment that I just threw away $300. Beside when they redesign for the new 360 and wii does come out youll see all there gonna do is catch up to the dream machine that is the PS3.

I worked for gamestop for a little while, and all i ever see is people buying these xbox easybake ovens, only to have them burn out time after time. plus if i have to pay to go online how in the hell can you tell me i’m suspended?? you didn’t suspend my 50dollar card i bought,did you? xbox can kick rocks, most of your games are trash,and the ps3 is always gonna outperform that coffin of a system. stick to pc software , billy gates . if you don’t like my views, you probably own a “sweatbox” add up all the money u spent ta play online ,ya coulda had a ps3 by now! lol

I hate my 360. Today it started like farting and making funny noises. I had a RROD but started kicking it and then it worked. I am gonna start kicking it again if it doesnt stop with the farts; its really disgusting.
