The HTC Hero is undoubtedly the best looking Android device. Don’t even try to argue with that fact. But the CDMA-variant of the Hero might be radically different. So much, that I’m not sure if I dig it. Right now the Internet is aflutter with ohs and ahs about the redesigned phone, but I think it looks like a cheap, Chinese redesign. Who knows, maybe it will grow on me. There doesn’t seem to be solid proof that this version of the phone will be available on Sprint or Verizon though and could be headed to a different market. IDK, maybe I do like it. [080.net via EngMobile]

I always hated the Chin on HTC phones. It’s easier to hold and gives it a distinct feature but it’s just not something I like in a phone. The HTC Hero is definitely the best looking Android phone and if I weren’t an iPhone owner, I’d hop on the HTC band wagon. http://ziggytek.com/
Where’s the option for “I don’t care what the hell it looks like I just want a solidly spec’d Android phone for VZW.”
Seconded.
I’ll take option 3; lose the chin, skip the brushed metal
I like the chin, it makes these phones feel more distinctive from all the other phones out on the market.
How is this poll even close? That picture makes the phone look like a tarted up hussie who got botched plastic surgery.
well the chin was Just starting to grow on me,
i think what i like most about the original hero is that it was all made out of 1 solid material.
this version with out the chin lacks that solid appearance. it may very well be perfectly fine, but i dont like my buttons on brushed steal due to past experiences.
I like the new design better. I’ve always been a brushed metal fan, but wouldn’t mind if they provided an all black with touch buttons like their winmo phones, and just a protruding trackball in the middle.
And please increase the screen size to something larger than 3.5″, or at least that. Portrait touch keyboard feels a little too cramped on 3.2″.
Oh yes! And tegra too :D.
Hmmm… where to start…? This is a phone with enough gold trims that would make Flavor Flav proud. So ghetto. I prefer the original design. But hey, to each their own.
