I like the XpressMusic line. I really do. It is fun to watch Nokia try something different and these two new models are no exception. The X6 has 32MB storage and Comes With Music unlimited downloads. It will cost about $650.
The X3 looks like a cousin to the Motorola RAZR and has a 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio, and takes MicroSD cards. It will be $160.
No word on US availability but don’t hold your breath.

With all iphone fans always saying that resistite technology is not good, nokia changed to capacitive. It’s a petty. I have a nokia 5800 and I always use hand write recognition. It’s one of the best features available, and this way it will be los. A very important thing that this nationalist American bloggers don’t even know… Why should nokia read these reviews from this Americans that don’t ever use any nokia phone. They will not buy it anyway.
$650!!! What is it with Nokia? Yesterday it was the $900 Nokia Atom netbook.
Look, I think this XPressMusic phone concept is garbage. I have a 5130XM that I bought because I listen to a lot of podcasts and I wanted to drop my MP3 player; too many gadgets to carry. Bad idea…
1. The music player does not allow you to set bookmarks. This is really lame my biggest complaint.
2. You can’ t fast-forward/back to a time. You have to hold the fast-forward button forever to get it to progressively go faster. By then you’re finger has slipped and the button has jumped you to the next song thereby causing you to lose your place because there are no bookmarks.
3. On the 5130XM the fast-forward button on the navigate key is buggy. Many times it causes the fast-forward to race ahead even if you remove your finger. Very difficult if not impossible to stop this behavior once it starts.
4. No option to prevent your listening from being constantly interrupted by incoming messages etc. Renders the phone useless for music if you’re receiving a reasonable number of short messages and just don’t want to be bothered till you’re done listening.
5. On the 5130XM anyway, the video playback stutters and goes in and out of pixelation. Sound often loses synch with the video. And this is even with the likes of phone-ready 3GP video.
The 5130XM uses the venerable Series 40 operating system. So it may not be a fair comparison with these new entries. But the problems above are indicative of poor design and quality control when it comes to the XPressMusic idea in-general. Buyer beware.
