The Toshiba JournE Touch is the iPod Touch for, presumably, the folks who don’t want to buy an iPod Touch. It is a thinly disguised Windows CE device – who on earth still uses CE – and will apparently have its own app store.

I predict they sell maybe two.

  • Big screen, net connected… supposedly 14 hours of battery time in web browser mode… will somebody hurry up and hack linux onto it so that it will be interesting enough to buy… :)

  • I think the bigger screen puts it in a different class of device; more functional around the house than an iPod touch, but obviously less portable. I had a PepperPad that fit in a similar niche and I loved it, but it was cludgy. The 7″ screen is good, though now that I’ve been using a netbook I realize that a 9″ or 10″ is so much better. Something like this could do really well, if it were able to run linux, had a big screen, came in under $300, and had the support of a community of tech enthusiasts…..

  • I love the net experience of my Pre but the screen is just too small. I would defiantly buy one of these and I have a Mifi, so It would be constantly on the internet.

I was extremely interested in the crunchpad buttt…. there hasn’t been any news on it for over a month now.
