Cygnett might be in a world of trouble. The retailer has a set of photos up showing off its cases for the iPod touch 3G and Nano 5G and *gasp* the pics show an actual product that fits all the leaked descriptions. The almighty Steve Jobs isn’t going to like this too much.
We’ll go out on a limb here and say these are the real deal. I mean, why not? They fit the description, the images appeared today as if timed for an event, and accessory makers generally get at least dummy units to showcase in their product shots. It all seems very plausible. You’re kidding me, right? It doesn’t sound like you’re being sarcastic. Those are terrible PS jobs. Look at the stretched screen on the nano and lack of depth to the cut outs on the back of the touch case.

I’m comparing these images to the ones now on Apple’s site. They don’t look at all the same. These photoshop hacks show a recessed wheel whereas Apple’s site has it flush with the rest. Yeah, they got the general shape right at least but other than that it’s a really bad photoshop job.
Yeah, no. I mean sure we know this is basically what it’s going to look like, but why would they have a white back and a black side to the touch? These are horrible PS jobs!

No it’s not. You can see they’ve combined an image of a black iphone (volume rocker and silent switch) with the back of a touch (silver back etc).
the iPod touch doesnt have a ringer switch so i doubt that the picture is even an ipod, its the back of an iPhone for sure. also would it not have the app store voice memo icon and a mail icon and the dock that came with 2.0?
Since they didn’t announce a 3G with pix/video, aren’t we feeling a little stupid? Or ripped off??? I want a camera on my iPod Touch! Gimme now!
Or is Cygnett expecting that they’ll announce the real new model after they fix the camera bugs?

i am a bit late on writing this. Both are fake and are not real the ipod touch 3g will not have a camera as confirmed in today press event the ipod nano will feauture a new camera and a radio feauture
Thank goodness for the 14 day returns policy. I bought a 32Gb “old version” on tuesday. SLight aggrieved tha the store staff didn;t quietly say “you might want to wait a day or two”, but hey ho. The package is unopened, Back it’ll go to the store.

I’m *still* worried that they’re going to announce in a month that they’ve fixed the problem with adding the camera onto the iPod Touch, which would make my purchase of a 32GB model now really stupid. I’m more confused and frustrated than I was in July!
So…..I have been looking at buying one for a month now, good thing I didn’t yet. Looking at the 8 or 32GB. Should I but one now or wait?
Well, I couldn’t wait anymore, so I ordered the 32GB last night. I hope I’m not making a big mistake!
