If you aren’t aware of the upcoming DS game Scribblenauts, go check it out now. Basically you can type in anything and it’ll show up in the game, from ladders to boats to velociraptors, or even major players like God and Death.
Part of the fun of the game, however, must be in trying out the craziest stuff you can think of and see if it’s in there. However, those of you who play through games with the strategy guide in your lap will probably just want to look at a huge list of all the words you can put in. Luckily for you, that list exists.
Some hackerish type took apart the ROM and ripped the full dictionary. It comes off as a mix of… well, everything. Internet memes, deities, objects, scientific names of creatures, chemicals, and pretty much everything in between. Warning, it’s over 20,000 items long. Here are a few of my favorites, which I can’t wait to try when I get the game:
- Asterism
- Harmonium
- Blogger (we better be more powerful than God)
- Dramatic Chipmunk
- Existentialist
- Marionberry
I think some of the words have a letter left off the end. I have trouble believing they put in “Apoll” and not “Apollo.”

The game doesn’t have “Apoll” or “Apollo”, so I don’t know how much you can trust that list.

Aha! I was right!
EH?? I typed parsnip and it’s there. “parsni’ isnt. There is appoll though – and it was eaten by an “AE’O” which is a type of bird aparrently. There are several dozen birds and fish (which all look the same and none of whose name’s I knew nor have I memorised). The ae’o didn’t like the parsnip.
For some reason when i typed parsni it didn’t work. When I typed parsnip it did.

I’ve had the rom of this game since saturday; IT’S IMMENSE. There’s thbis one level where you have to give Santa something he likes; I have him a bikini and it worked! :D Oh, it’s great, but I’m gonna try some of these words. ‘Apocolypse’,eh? Hmm…
Apocalypse is the same as “atom bomb’ and ‘nuclear bomb’ – they give you a nuke. Just like ‘nothing’ and ‘black hole’ yeild a black hole.Try wave or tsunami. Quite impressive. Don’t try if you want to complete the level on that attempt.
list seems to be incomplete: harry potter gives a person wearing red robes and with a book and yoko ono gets you a fish…
rock band gets you a guy.
FYI master chief gets you a generic solider but remember that is a rank in the USMC.

Sometimes the game recognises the second word and not the first – eg. ono might be the same as yoko ono, master chief could be the same as chief. Try it out.
I actually got a take down notice from WB about this. It’s important to note that the list does include meme’s and creations from other creators that are not property of Warner Brothers in any way what so ever, but they don’t differentiate which words they actually OWN in the list I released.
Can’t wait for Scribblenauts 2. Imagine: 1,000,000 words… better graphics and more advanced reactions between items. Imagine a 3D Scribblenauts-like M-rated game with something like Project Natal and voice commands. Hoard of zombies coming at you: just call out Shotgun and you’ve got one. Vampire flies down and tries to grab you while your fighting off zombies. Call out Stake Crossbow, kick the closest Zombie away, shoot the vampire, and bring out a flamethrower. Motorcycle… Hookshot… dragon… shovel… warp tunnel… laser cannon… demon army… space shuttle… Sniper Rifle… flute… heavy metal band… gravity… anti gravity suit… anvil… woodpecker… coyote… light switch… walkie talkie… … … … multiplayer…. multiplayer Scribblenauts…. I’m sorry, I’m just in love…

i got the game but it gets boring at times but it is really good when you do get it type in death on missions to kill your enemyies mish mash the level costs the most ollers so keep spending
