Just as I thought. The 2nd generation Vivienne Tam netbook is just atherno netbook with a pretty graphic printed on its lid. That’s it. Maybe it’s the testosterone speaking, but who the hell cares? Sure, it’s nice looking and I can appreacate the artwork, but I’m thinking that few, if any, chicks will be willing to shell out for $699 for a netbook that features an Atom CPU, 10-inch screen, and the rest of the standard netbook specs that would normally run $300. Lame.

Thats mankind for you. We’ll pay anything for the most retarded things. Twice the price for a pretty butterfly? DEAL.
Matt, people who aren’t educated in tech like we are see these netbooks as fully fledged computers. They don’t know what an Intel Atom is. So I have friends that can look at the Sony Vaio P (which is AU$1,399 base) and say that isn’t too bad and it will be just the same for the Vivienne Tam.
From my aspect, it is very beautiful, but only beautiful. It is designed for male customers, but I am not sure everyone likes a big red butterfly on its netbook. Not a good idea!

I completely agree! Most women I know would much rather take the standard atherno netbook and spend the rest on a posh handbag to put it in! I do think it’s nice to see an alternative to black though…
There are alot of drab and mundane cases around. More like this will make the netbook case market a little more interesting
