If you have to wear a tie on a regular basis, it might as well be awesome. In that spirit, Argentina’s “Sinapsis” studio designed this “After Office Tie” for a recent DesignBoom.com competition. It’s a simple concept that makes a lot of sense: a tie with a bottle opener built into the bottom of it.
The tie will be exhibited at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts from September 30th to October 4th. Whether it’ll become an actual product someday is another story. I could see people buying them, though. Or you could probably make your own if you’re ambitious.

Darn they almost stole my idea … well, I’ll give it away anyway … there should be a bottle opener on a belt, since many do not wear ties, and the belt does not get washed as much :)

Not a belt, but something similar.
This can be accomplished with a thick ring too, but this is cheaper :)
I usually use another bottle, or a spoon :)
How do you use a spoon to open a bottle? Sounds dangerous, you crazy crazy man!
Almost as dangerous as me using a screwdriver to clean my ears! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Xavier,
I’ve been wearing a Volcom belt with a bottle opener in the inside of the buckle for almost 6 years now. Sorry man.
Well, I always wear a lighter with me, that’ll do it just fine as a bottle opener.
I own a belt buckle that’s a bottle opener…
only prob is that if a bottle is even lightly shaken, it’s very easy to fizz up and look like I wet myself ;-p
So every time you go to open a bottle for a lady at a work function, your pants fall down? And she says, “oh my… I just wanted a beer but… this is much better…”
