Hey, disco party people, how about some Windows 7 commercials?

It’s not a Windows 7 Party without some tunes, right? Thankfully Microsoft has created a set of commercials with catchy beats, nice visuals, and no stilted, low-paid actors apparently preparing to get it on in the worst Cinemax late night movie ever.

Enduserblog has all of the videos for your perusal but I picked out a few more good ones after the jump.

It’s nice to see good commercials for Windows 7 itself – that’s important, especially in general adoption – and thankfully they’re not using the same video team that they use for internal, informal videos.

  • I didn’t care much for the first ad since it doesn’t display a compelling feature of Windows 7. It reminds me of the Pre ads where they had the product in it, but they didn’t show the compelling features enough.

The second ad is fantastic though since it shows off a very compelling feature of Windows 7. The best part about the ad though is it doesn’t show the boring creation part of creating the video, but the end result. That’s exactly how every application ad should be.

  • I made it to “seven… twenty-four seven” and couldn’t take it anymore.

Teh agency eats too much Miracle Whip…

  • Blaaaaaah-Windows Movie Maker, gimme a break. More bloated, inefficient, junk. Nothing to see here (except Windows XP SP3), move along…

  • I think the personalization one was best, subtle but got the message across about personalization. I agree with Brad about the first one it just didn’t resonate with me this had anything to do with windows 7.

Maybe msft is learning their lesson from the previous poor ads as I can see much more creative thinking in some of these.

    • The first one resonates with me, im into my music, facebook, and personalizing my desktop. That music was just awesome and i know my mates would get into it too.

Win7 is awesome, taskbar and aero lets you make it look amazing regardless of your desktop background!

  • The first ad, I absolute loved it and would for sure make me want to get a Windows 7 computer.

  • Horrible… all of them. Nobody shoots video like that on their camcorder. The first video looked cheap and derivative. Totally uninspired.

  • It might not have resonated with most of you; however, it would definitely resonate with the younger urban crowd and 20’s-ish music-oriented (post/mid) college students that know how to use a pc but aren’t exactly super tech-savvy. They won’t care that it didn’t show any of the features of Windows 7. Instead, they’ll just notice how catchy it is since it relates to the kind of music they listen to most, and it’ll make it instantly memorable to them. It might not make them want to go out and pick up Windows 7 at all, but it’ll definitely have Windows 7 on their minds as they play the song in their heads. Then, once buzz starts getting around through their group of friends, it’ll be the thing to check out and have, since most of them have no idea what linux is or how to use it and either can’t afford or don’t care for a mac.

  • Maybe MSFT made the horrible commercial first to draw attention to these good ones?

    Genious!

  • “personalization”…. really?

Is this a revolutionary concept for the “PC”?

Couldn’t you change the color of your desktop background in Windows 3.1?

M$ should make a cool hip commercial explaining how to share files and printers in a Vista / XP hybrid environment without hiccups. I would love to see that feature work without me scratching my head wondering: Why is the networking so different then XP, and why does it feel like it took 5 steps backwards?

Is that fixed in Windows 7, cause even then Ill stick with Snow Leopard. :)

    • the level of personalization of the desktop is thru the roof in this version. Have you tried it? Aero and glass effect is just amazing. Regardless of the type of image you have in the background the glass windows and taskbar and glowing icons just work amazingly well with it.

You’ll either get it or you wont. Fortunately me and my friends get it! Im sorry you dont!

    • Wow! You used M$! You must be a cool, hip and revolutionary guy!

Or you’re just a narrow minded douche. It’s one of the two.

      • I have an opinion about msft that is based on experience. what is the price of a fully licensed install of SQL on a server with dual processors these days? I don’t mind spending money but pricing like that makes it hard for a small business not to choose open source, or even worse, pirate a copy of msft SQL server.

        • If your business model is sound then you should be able to afford it. If your business model doesn’t allow for that cost talk the the business group within MS they’ll cut you a deal or direct you to a partner that can help you setup in a cheaper agreement till the point where your business can self fund a sql server.

Doesnt sound like you researched enough!

  • Anybody know what the song was in the third video? My googling skills aren’t up to the task it seems…

  • Yes, these are all good commercials made by my friend. Also go here to download the song another of my friend (Daniel Kamas) wrote for Windows 7

You can see Dan Kamas playing this song in the commercial for Media Center

  • Can’t wait to play these at my WINDOWS 7 LAUNCH PARTY!!!

I think myself, the nerd, the grandma, the milf, and the black dude are really going to vibe with these vids. Then its going to turn into a porno.

  • I like the first one a lot.
    Great music and colors
    The other two are ok

  • I think they are nice commercials. It seems like each one is geared toward a different group. Maybe they’ll have a ‘business’ type commercial too. Or even better a ‘gamers’ commercial. I think games are one of the things Windows has a clear advantage over other OSes… Not that Windows needs more market share but it’s nice to see a company making commercials that don’t try to degrade their competitor’s product.

  • I hope they used Movie Maker :)

  • I used to be a windows user before three years ago.

Since about three years ago, I’m not.

I don’t know why, I’m just not interested, no matter what they’re doing.
