revoWell here’s a nice price on a tiny computer. Acer’s AspireRevo nettop is now available at Newegg for $199.

The machine features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive (5400RPM), and NVIDIA’s ION graphics chip.

The inclusion of ION makes this little guy a good option as an inexpensive HTPC as it’ll be able to play back high definition video through the HDMI or VGA outputs.

Other specs include Windows XP Home, gigabit Ethernet, card reader, two front-mounted and four rear-mounted USB ports, one open RAM slot, and an open Mini PCI Express slot.

Built-in wireless would have been nice but other than that, this isn’t too bad for $200.

  • This little guy would make a great candidate for a Windows Home Server machine with a bunch of external drivers attached (or maybe a Drobo).

  • from what i understand the atom 230 can’t render streamed HD video since its handled by the CPU rather than the GPU. downloaded HD content will play just fine though. i’d wait for the atom 330 or opt for asrock in the meantime.
