We’ll have more on this little gem this week but I present to you the HP Envy 13, the first netbook notebook (HP is citing the heavy-duty Core 2 Duo processor in there) I’d actually consider buying. It hit 2813 on Geekbench, lasted about three hours on one charge, and is smaller and lighter than a MacBook. Best of all it runs Windows 7 Professional like a champ and has HP’s instant-on technology for quick media and communications applications. Hot, hot stuff. Click through for a gallery and expect a review on Friday.

Judging by the first photo, this wouldn’t be out of place in the bathroom for shaving
I agree with Steve here – that is one shiny screen.
That’s not a netbook, is it? I’m pretty sure its an ultra-portable…
In your follow up on this you MUST tell us whether it will run WinXP programs in Win7’s XP compatibility mode. CG keeps ignoring this important point when bringing us netbooks and the likes. Please
I’ve got windows 7 ultimate on both my desktop and msi wind, both run absolutely fantastic and run every program I used to run on XP. No dramas, theres nothing to worry about.
Just hope that HP have fixed their problems with the overheating!!
Don’t think ill trust a HP first generation product or one product line
that have undergone major design changes.
Have HP TX1270eo it is warm as hell and then the motherboard had to be changed after 24 months since the tablet died of overheating. First problems occurred already after 10-12 moths and wireless gave up after 15 months …HP quality is questionable …. I would be careful…
Its not a netbook… Its a Subnotebook for 1700$…
I wonder what the trackpad buttons are like. I have an Acer Ace and about the only thing I really don’t like is how *hard* it is to click trackpad buttons.
If thats a Netbook, you can call the Macbook Air one, too.
looks exactly like a MBP
Come on PeeCee people… you’re not even trying to be original anymore. Is following Apple more profitable than trying to outdo them now?
Since I got my anti-glare MacBook Pro envy doesn’t hit me anymore. ;-)
Nice mirror btw. ;-)
