Since the PSP Go is coming tomorrow, it was reasonable to expect a firmware update the PSP. We just didn’t expect one this full of content. Will it be enough to get the homebrew people to upgrade? Probably not, but for the casual user it’s quite the step forward.
The new firmware update adds compatibility with the new MediaGo function, as well as with the upcoming change to the way PSP titles are published. The update will also make it possible for you to tether your PSP to any Bluetooth connection (mobile phone, PC, etc) and game online when you don’t have access to a wifi.
Included in the update (in a way) is the upgrade to the PSP store online. Sony is changing the look of the store in order to make sure that it works properly with MediaGo, which is a PC application that will enable you to organize and transfer your music, movies, and photos to the PSP/PSPGo. It will also enable you to purchase and download software from the Playstation Store using your computer, as an alternative to downloading using your actual device.
Over, it’s quite impressive for a combination firmware update and store refresh. But the PSP Go is still overpriced.
Am I the only one who thinks this thing is ugly as sin? I don’t like it at all.
Agree on the price in any case, that’s much too high. Give me it at $150 or around there.

do any of you realize a memory chip for 16 gigs is around 90-100 bucks. your getting ALOT more than the 200 dollar bundles that give you a game and a 1 or 2 gig card. own up and admit its a decent price.
right,sure a 16gb usbkey/SD costs that much.
With 90 dollars you can get something bigger. Then they aren’t spending money on the umd driver.

Well, the screen is smaller, strike one, they didn’t add a second thumbstick strike two, 16 gigs ? Each game must be at least a gig or two, sooo, maybe 8 games can be had on it max ? strike three it’s outa there, I’m keeping the old PSP with a bigger screen & unlimited anount of games I can play on it, plus I can get the same games used for cheap that they want you to download. Big deal a UMD, it works, console games use discs, it’s backwards tech to go to slotted game cartridges like DS. The UMD works what’s the problem ?
Well…the way i see it. i rather get this then a 16gb ipod which costs around the same price…i mean the screen is just as big as a ipod video, it plays better games, oh and also a slot for another 32 gb…
