Sprint isn’t doing itself any favors recently by breaking retail’s first rule: Customers are dumb, so don’t give them choices. But now at Sprint, consumers must decide between the Palm Pre, the BlackBerry Tour, and $179 (after $100 MIR & 2-year agreement) the Android-powered HTC Hero. I mean, they’re making it awful hard on customers these days by offering more than one must-have phone.
It’s so much easier to choose a phone down at the AT&T store because your options are only the iPhone 3G or the iPhone 3GS. And Verizon only has the BlackBerry Tour. But damn, Sprint has three of the hottest phones with the Android-packing Samsung Moment and Palm Pixi coming out real soon too. Come on, Sprint, stop embarrassing AT&T and VZW with all the cool phones you have. No one likes a show-off.

I’m really thinking hard about getting one of these…
You should have a giveaway contest for one!
Though, I’d love to get a CRUNCHPAD to go with it….
*wink, wink, nudge, nudge, he said with a knowing grin…*
It is an amazingly good phone. I highly recommend you do buy one.
- This message left using the HTC Hero, on the Sprint network.
Is the screen as tough as the Iphone?
I haven’t done any durability tests, but it certainly stays cleaner (and easier to read) then my iPod touch.
Sprint deserves this. Just a year ago everyone was bashing Sprint for its poor phone choices. Now look at it. The tables have turned. :P
Oh man, this is great. I wish I could get this but still have some time on my contract. Will be able to get a new phone in june. If by some miracle the iPhone gets on Sprint, then I might get that. But with these choices, an android phone from HTC it is.
Phone choices and with a great pricing plan for family and data, it blows VZ and ATT out of the water.
Cool phones, great prices… that’s about it. Tempting none-the-less though.
I’ve been thinking about getting one of these but it’s a toss up between a HTC or an iPhone. I would prefer one of the Windows Mobile HTC models though. The android operating system is still new.
By the way Windows mobile 6 works…it certainly seems untested/new. I can’t wait to get away from Windows Mobile and try out an Android handset instead. No more stylus and hopefully no where near the amount of bugs or issues with an mobile operating system that isn’t user-centric. MS really should ditch their Windows Mobile team and put their Zune people on developing their next mobile OS.
i had the pre for 2 months. i liked it. it was good. i had the iphone for 2 years previous to that. loved it. however, i now have the htc hero (yes, i am a phone whore) and I am in love with it. it is not perfect, but it is darn close. i think it is great.
Has anyone notice, Iphone fans, especially the one’s in the media are trashing anything Android, Sprint or non-iphone coming out lately? The Iphone maybe great, but I don’t want to switch to AT&T, so my choice from Sprint are what is listed above. To Iphone fans, your smartphone isn’t the only one on the block anymore. The masses have choices now.
How come they said it was available today? What did I do today, I went to the local Sprint store only to be told that they don’t have the phone or even a demo today because they don’t get shipments on Sundays. What’s wrong with this? Makes me think twice about switching from tmo to sprint with this and the history I hear about sprint.
Anyone know of a coverage review site for all areas around the country?
First Blackberry then iPhone and now Android.WinMO id dead and it will never survive even with its WinMO 7.0.
Thanks to Blackberry(RIM),iPhone(Apple) & Android(Google).
But the real game changer is iPhone. It has changes whole smart phone market and idea.
I’ve got the Pre and I love the OS but I need to upgrade my second line of service.
I was sold on the Hero until the Moment was announced.
Touch decisions but I love having the options.
if you purchase the hero at best buy, you don’t have to deal with mail-in rebates. they sell it to you with an instant rebate for the price of $179.
no reason to buy it at a sprint store, unless it’s out of stock at a b.b.
you also get a 75$ for reffering a customer until the 31st 75$ visa card
haha this is pretty sliggidy
