If you’re a Windows 7 Launch Party host like me, you’ve probably gone through a wave of emotion. First you were probably stoked that you were chosen, you then probably had fun with everyone else over the awful launch party videos and hand-outs, and then last week, you probably got the sweet party kit that contains a special version of Windows 7 Ultimate. But are you now dreading the damn party next week? I am. So I wanna know, are you actually planning on having the party? If so, give me some and others some tips and/or words of encouragement in the comments below.

heres advice, just say all of your invitations just got lost in the mail, so you can just not have a party
I am planing on having mine. At the very least its an excuse to get together with some friends.
Does going to the neowin event in nyc count?
Well i ahve a friend who one the competition… Hes just inviting a few of his closer friends to take a couple pictures with all the stuff and then go do something else.
Recently, I’ve had several friends order a new computer and ask my help in getting their stuff from the old to the new. Since they are all eligible for the free Dell upgrade to Windows 7, I’ve invited them to my “Photopalooza” (ugh, the NAMING) Windows 7 party. I’m looking forward to it…though I’ve only had one tentative “Yes” response.
Well I will be having launch party on launch day, Windows 7 is more or less the excuse to have a party and invite some close friends over, and have some food, drinks, and Guitar Hero/ RockBand competiions, so quickly show guests Windows 7 and then get on to the “real” party. Just my take.
Nooooo
I will not host a party, I will probably sell the pack to some fanboy jajajaja so that he gets the special
“signature edition”
In a word…..Nope.
I was going to, but none of my friends want to come and do it for me. I got excited but everyone has killed it for me. I’m going to enjoy my copy of WIndows 7 and just use the party favors for something else later.
I’ve given Windows 7 plenty of press because I actually do like it, I just don’t know enough people who are willing to sit and listen to me show them how much I like it.
Meh.
Same here, I invited a bunch of people, I tought this would be fun to go over the new features with them, but they only call me a nerds and say they will call when they can’t figure it out by themselves.
So this will be a party of one :-P
My party has kinda transformed itself to a BYOB Halloween Party…. with a windows 7 poster on the wall, behind the cobwebs. Managed to snag a bartender, though, so it ought to make for an interesting night.
Why would anybody do this? Windows isn’t something you celebrate. It is something you just suffer through at work until you can go home and use a non-tarded OS…
id rather hang out with vince from slap chop then host this party….they should have created some sort of obligation before they just handed me a free copy of windows 7….SUCKAZZZZ!!!!!!
Nah I’m not having one, but I did do my bit and got 11 people buying win7. We are having a Party but not to Show off win7 LOL. I have been running 7 since the 1st beta anyway so most of my friends are already familiar with it. So I think that I done my bit.
Make sure you bring your iphone with you!
We are just using it as an excuse to drink alot and hang out with friends
I’m going to have the party, but I don’t think MS will showcase any of my photos of Win7 on my macbook pro and cinema display :)
