The night is almost here. I hope my Windows 7 Launch Party guests aren’t expecting much. I mean, they’re welcome to go hang out on my Windows 7 computer and putz around on it. I don’t care, but I’m going to be drinking some refreshing High Life far away from that wretched device. I only have a few people coming to my launch party and they will all be leaving with a gift bag filled with Windows 7 crap courtesy of Microsoft and random advertisers. But how about you? Are you attending one of these infamous events tonight or in the coming days?

Nop.
Hosting one, and the bags are nice, it’s just the content that is crap :-)
I actually really like my Windows 7, runs well on my computer. Looks good next to my Mac.
A much more entertaining version of the Windows commercial is the remixed version. Check here. Pure genius.

Is it just me or does anyone else find the whole “windows 7 Party” idea as extremely gay. I mean what the hell are you going to do…install windows 7 on a bunch of PCs? Also how many friends do you actually have that gives a shit? And those that do prob already have it.
Yes, it it stupid. But, if you ask me, the average American having a party for “Cinco de Mayo” is equally pointless, but we do it anyway. You know, Microsoft gave me a free copy of Windows 7, I am going to have a few guys over and drink to that! We will probably just watch the Office.
Actually when you have a familly that is always calling you for help with their computer, it is a good idea to present them what is new and what it will change for them all at once, or they will all call you to ask you about it sooner or later anyway.
I am hosting one as well. I am having a few guys over to drink beer and play with cool technology. Microsoft’s cheesy approach helped me convince my wife I needed to have a guys-only party.
Me – “Hey honey, I was selected to host a Windows7 Release Party”
Wife – Really, sound sort of geeky?
Me – “Yeah, they even sent me a free copy of Windows7, that is like $200!!!” (not really)
Wife – “That’s nice, why don’t you just make it a guys-only party?”
Me – “Oh, well… sure, I guess so. I mean I hate to leave you and your friends out of this”
Wife – “Oh, don’t worry. you want me to bake a cake?”
Me – “Ah…. sure”
Thanks Microsoft!
I am going to USTREAM the event: http://www.ustream.tv/wahiggins3
