And so it begins. The impending onslaught of Black Friday ads starts with a leaked OfficeMax circular featuring a 10.1-inch Acer Aspire One netbook with Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive for just $150. It’ll be available from 7AM to 12PM on Friday, November 27th.

That, my friends, is indeed a doorbuster.

Other goodies include:

  • Compaq Presario desktop with AMD Athlon II X2 CPU for $240
  • Toshiba Windows 7 laptop with 4GB of RAM for $400
  • Logitech Wave wireless mouse and keyboard set for $40
  • HP OfficeJet all-in-one printer for $50
  • Memorex 7-inch portable DVD player for $30
  • Magellan RoadMate 1440 GPS for $70
  • Seagate 1TB External USB hard drive for $80
  • Samsung color laser all-in-one printer for $200

And many, many more. Pretty solid start so far.

  • Its really good deal to buy laptop. People always look for this type sale and discount. Also people always look for black Friday because on that day they want to go any shop or mall and buy various things for Christmas preparation.

  • the bad thing about a netbook is that you have to by an external drive to play movies or put a cd in it. the price is great but useless cause you can’t put a cd inside

    • yes not having a cd drive makes it completely useless…. it’s lack of one has nothing to do with the fact that equipping one would making it’s most appealing aspect, it’s size, impossible. Good observation though

  • Ok geniuses. Netbooks are not supposed to have cd drives. They are for word processing and connecting to the Internet. If you want a notebook with a cd drive to watch movies, they come as small as 12′ inches. Netbooks are not meant to be notebooks so stop making irrelevant comparisons.
I have this for work and studying and absolutely love it. And my shoulder was no longer sore from lugging my 15′ notebook around.

    • You guys a Stupid you can get a External drive for 70$ and I know for Fact Officemax has it when you buy a Netbook yuo can get a ext. Drive for $10 so yes you stull watch your pr0n and put cd on your netbook.

    • You can buy an external dvd drive for $20 there. Trust me I know. The salesperson will explain how it works.

  • Does anyone know if there will be a limit to buying these? I want to get one for each of my grandkids (8 of them).

    • Mike my experience has seen that this type of deal will be only one per customer. My advice is to show up way early for this one, meet and greet a bunch of ppl you are in line with and most ppl will get a paper stub reciept for you. I have been fortunate to have them pick up the laptop at the counter (which i am sure this will be behind) and you can pay for it. 8 is a lot but i did it one year with hard drives. get their cell numbers so you can find them in the store later when you all split up to get your stuff. will take some time but do-able.

  • does it come with an installed camera

    • It appears to have a webcam built-in about the display in the ad picture. A search reveals that most (if not all) have the webcam. This is probably the N270 and doesn’t have wireless N or bluetooth, but hey — sucha deal @ $150! I hope they have an external drive for $10 as noted in another post here.

  • People will probably get in line on Thanksgiving day to snag one of these. Great deal. Netbooks are made for web surfing and simple tasks. Starfox is correct. There are regular laptops for watching movies and storing a lot of data on a hard drive. But for people like me a netbook and flash thumb drive does the job.

  • Do you think that this item will be available online??

  • Im wondering if its available online also! And you can match it with wamart… they might do their thing of matching any price! –>

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12534586#ProductDetail

I been comparing things and only diff is GB!

    • Not true, about the only thing different is GB. Yes it has a bigger hard drive, but it also has a different motherboard. The one that will be selling only has room for 1x stick of ram while the one with the 250GB hd has room for 2x sticks of ram. I wouldn’t count on walmart price matching this for you.

  • I’m still holding out for a higher quality netbook to drop into the sub $200 category.

Is techcrunch going to list any deals as they become available?

I’m keeping an eye out on http://www.blackfridaynetbook.com, but so far it looks like none of the major manufactuers have had a major price drop yet.

  • is this the D250 model Acer?

  • I work for OfficeMax and have seen the printed ad. This laptop is not on it!

  • This ad is fake. Don’t even bother to go to the store for this. It won”t be honored.
