Believe it or not, but FIFA 10 isn’t the only soccer game around. In fact, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 just came out in Europe, and was the top selling game there last week. Not the top selling sports game, but the top selling game overall. Yeah, it’s big.
Forza Motorsport 3, which comes out here in the U.S. tomorrow, was the second best selling game, followed by FIFA 10, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010.
I’ve always been a PES guy, so hooray for my team! Not that I’m going to buy it this year—I’ll only buy sports games every so often; I can update my own rosters, thank you very much—but thank goodness it did well. You don’t want there to only be one game to choose from, do you?
And I’m pretty sure this screenshot is broken: if Liverpool were to play Barcelona, you figure either one or the other would be wearing their away kit; the colors there are far too close to make them easily discernible.
pes has been going down hill for the last 3 to 4 years. even its once ledgendary game play is a shody wanna be of its former self. the game play used to be the best bar none which is why most people ignored the other flaws it had. no real team or players names etc. now it has nothing. i have been a pro evo dedicated fan for a decade and now i have given into the fact that fifa is much better. i only hope next years version changes my mind or its fifa for me. bb
I went with FIFA again this year after playing both the demos. I think Pro Evo has improved their game engine dramatically compared to last year but the gameplay is still wooden, unrealistic and shockingly annoying at times (goalkeepers still palm the ball into the middle of the penalty area!).
But I’m not surprise it knocked FIFA off the top, there are a lot of Pro Evo fans who will disagree with everything I just said :)

I own both PES2010 and FIFA10 for the PC. PES2010 is king! PES2010 has better gameplay and graphics. However, FIFA10 is the worst game I have played in the last 3 or 4 years and also the online play does not work.
Take my advice, DO NOT BUY FIFA10 for the PC. You will regret it!

Thats because the best thing about fifa is the ability to run 360 degrees, and for that you need the analog controller. This means you can angle your dribbling/passing etc exactly where you want it to go, unlike pro evo’s 8 axis’s. Both games have their strong points and weak points, but for this reason fifa is the superior game
I played the FIFA and PES demo. After testing both games i really dont understand how someone can buy PES? It’s very unrealistic. Just take a look at the movement of the players…it’s like playing football on Super Nintendo.
Im a longterm pro ev fan since ISS for the PS1. This year im torn. Ive played both PES10 and FIFA10 and they both have some serious flaws. Fifa has all the licenses but the gameplay and in particular the shooting is poor. Pro i feel the gameplay is a little fast and the shooting has gotten more unrealistic……..Both need a serious revamp for next year
I’ve owned fifa since fifa 07 and it had it’s ups and downs, but now i got fifa 10 and to be honest with you i don’t see anything wrong with it except for its graphics compared to pes 10. The gameplay is what matters the most to me and i can tell you, fifa 10 feels more like a real live match. Go get it.
I have always been a big PES fan. However, last year I bought FIFA 09 on a friends recommendation and was so disappointed I sold it after a week. PES 2009 was much better. After playing the demos of FIFA 10 and PES 2010, I went out and bought PES 2010 yesterday. There are still loads of things about the game which annoy me (there always are in PES) but the great gameplay is still there and most of all unlike FIFA, it’s actually fun.
Lets face it,after much hype Konami have failed to deliver,they said they listend to the fans of thes fansites,blogs etc,and said there would be vast inprovements but from what I can see they have looked at Fifa09 and stole a few bits. im a linfe long pro evo fan and played fifa o9 for the 1st time 3weeks ago,let me just say how utterly gutted I am ive wasted a year playing pro evo 2008,what a load of rubbish.sorry to say this but all those Evo fans out there are kidding themselves .Fifa is king. look at it this way

Not all of us are a supporter of the “Big 4″ clubs, millions of us dream about taking our little club up the divisions, which i can do with FIFA but not with PES, i prefer the PES game play, but if it only had the smaller clubs and leagues with real teams and names it would sink FIFA!!
FIFA 10 for PC has shit graphics. According to EA, nearly all computers have onboard graphics. Of course, NEARLY ALL COMPUTERS ARE OFFICE PCS and probably won’t be playing fifa.
More to the point, EA is a garbage company which mass-produces worthless games. They spend more money on salesmen and lawyers to secure licenses than coders and designers

I used to play Pro, but now I’m a Fifa user. It seems to have much better gameplay, and I can play with lower league clubs.

i have played pro evo since i was a kid, well over ten years it has always been far superior, but no longer.. it has a slight edge in general gameplay but this yrs changes have overall, wrecked the game, first touch is brutal, keepers are worse(shocking, they wil stand there as a forward passes them without any attemp to stop them) shooting is worse, ai cotrolled defenders still give away pens an get sent off, u cant easily transfer classic players like u cud..wtf were they doin changin it i cant figure out its so stupid. whoever was responsible for some of the changes this yr has the intelligence of a wall an thats bein generous.
I Purchased a copy of PES2010 today, and after 2 hours of game play, im not quite satisfied. I dont noe weather its still growing in me or weather i should return in exchange for fifa2010. They mention PES 2010 is going back to its simulation roots but, i dont see this happening so far, seems very raw and u cant aim to shoot where you want, which is a real down side in my opinion and the 360 directional movement is rubbish, makes it so hard 2 dribble around players and the touches feel so blunt, anyways ill play it for a couple more hours and see how it pans out.
Pro evo is by far the best football game i’ve played, true fifa is better in terms of having licences but that’s rectified with a download. i feel you have to change the camera to medium view to appreciate the graphics though as the long view is wank!! I used to be fifa til pro came along and i used to play microprose soccer and gary linekers so don’t come up with that bullshit of ‘i’ve been playing since i was 2 and shit’ Simple fact is people have different preferences!!!
Pro evo 10 as been out long enough to compare with Fifa, for me pro evo 10 is a much better game than fifa the gameplay is old school pro evo in other words a challenge. Im so glad that pro evo is back to its best the graphics are awsoeme and the champions lge and europa lge look sweet!. and with the edit system all correct kits can be made just go on ebay.

You guys chill out. We should consider ourselves lucky that there is actually 2 Soccer games to choose from. Why I prefer PES on the PC I do believe that Fifa 10 is way better on 3rd gen consoles.
PES has improved on the consoles but it still plays funny. On the PC PES is miles ahead of Fifa in regards gameplay…… but Konami needs to improve the online gaming a lot to be able to even come close to Fifa online gaming….JMHO

PES 2010 is the better game out of the two I have played. FIFA 10 has the better graphics. PES 10 has the better gameplay.
I prefer PES 10 as of the gameplay. Some may prefer FIFA 10 because of the graphics.
PES is and will be the best soccer game ever, EA is great on sports games but soccer war is lost.
Played both games and anyone who feels FIFA is the better game cannot be a fan of true football..
FIFA = Easy goals, poor graphics, ball on a string style play, not hard enough and does not test my skills or brain in a footie sense..
PES admittedly has its flaws but it is a better recreation of the beautiful game, and is generally hard..couple that with improved ML , better online and a harder game all round I have no complaints… Loving the new physics this time round , slower players actually work (Berbatov / zidanes/ beckhams) as the game is no longer about…dribble….dribble…sprint dribble shoot…score…

i agree with “FifaForTheBehind” how ever in respects to the slow pace favouring the slower players of the game, You can no longer do the fast cut in dribbles with Messi!, in 09 players were able to control Messi, the exact same way he plays the beutifull game, try using messi the way he plays in real in 10, dosent happen :(
I’ve been playing soccer games for 11 years now, my first one was fifa 98, it was good enough for me as a kid, but as time grew on, fifa was getting more advanced but somehow it turned me off. PES/WE is better simulation of real-life soccer even though it has its flaws as well. And anyone who said Fifa10’s graphics is better than PES10 graphics has some serious visual impairment.
