I’m vastly curious about this game, but I really don’t want to purchase it. I hope one of my friends does.
Thanks for the heads up. This looks fantastic. I absolutely suck at these games but they are great fun. My kids will want one for sure.

I’ve been DJing (mostly as a bedroom DJ, but I’ve done plenty of small party gigs in my time) for about 5 years now, playing everything from Electronic to Hip-hop. I’m a huge fan of DDR, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band games, and have no problems pulling off 5 star expert scores. Needless to say, I had to have this game the second it was out.
Let me just say that this game is, by far, the hardest of them all. If you thought jumping between fret buttons, strumming, and the occasional whammy could be a mind melt, try pressing buttons, spinning a table (either randomly or to the command of up/down arrows), crossfading between tracks, and occasionally twisting a knob (for what sounds like a hi-lo fader to me). This thing is insane on expert. I’d say it is even a bit harder than keeping an insane beat on a double-pedaled drum set.
As for fun factor, my first take is that it is a LOT of fun, and I see it being infinitely extendable since all of the tracks are mixes. Look on any music service online, and you’ll find millions of mixes for any group of songs… so I don’t see this getting old any time soon. I’m sure the downloads will be coming as fast as they can make them.
Being a turntable DJ myself, my only complaint is that you don’t get the feel of working with two turntables, but I honestly don’t think that complexity is needed here. The game is great without this minute detail.
I’m not trading in my vinyl anytime soon, but I have a feeling I’ll be playing this game much more than bedroom DJing for the next few months (at least).
When I first heard about this game I gotta say, I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t warm to the idea that fast. But I watched some videos about it and now I really want to give it a go! It looks a lot more entertaining than I would have expected. I love Guitar Hero and Rock Band too, so I’m very interested in seeing how this one plays.
Yo yo yo… I knew this was going to be hot right off the cuff! Being first a voyer of those playing Guitar hero I watched and watched… hearing only a few tunes I was familar with I was hesitant to purchawse this game but with a larger screen tv I said what tha hay. Then I heard about this new game with dj mix soundz brought back memories of all the equipment that I now have collecting dust if I haven’t incorporated it into my entertainment setup.
I recieved my pre order call and I was there the next day. I picked up my bundle, I would have gotten the more advanced game had I known about it but I bought a few blue ray movies which are still packaged up by the way… This game rocks like none before, the cross fadeing and scratching is so realistic I see no problem having a serious party with this as the entertainment, add the guitar for the bass and whoa… entertainment has been taken to tha next level… keeps the updates comming… Just saying … hopefully one day the capability of transfering beats or your favorite compilations directly into tha game would be off tha hook… just sayin… peace…
