The rumors were correct. Nintendo was planning a larger screen DSi. Fair enough. So now you’re probably wondering just how big of a difference a 4.2-inch screen is over a 3.25-inch screen. Well, Nintendo is fielding that question with a little interactive page, which trys to up-sell the new, large screen model over the original one. Seeing is believing, after all.
The page is in Japanese but the picture doesn’t need translation. The new DSi LL is a monster compared to the standard DSi. Aging gamers are going to dig it for sure. (John’s in that group, btw)

Just how clear could these screens possibly be if we’re playing content that is being upscaled from what was meant to be played on a 3 inch screen?… I already noticed the DSi uncomfortably streches DS content to the point it’s not as defined or focused. I’m on the fence at this point.
I think even using the word “upscaled” is questionable – they’re just being stretched. I can’t imagine they will look good at all.
Touché my good man. Streched is most definately what is happening. I’m almost positive the resolution of the panel will be identical to that of the DSi. Time will tell…
