Shocked? Not me. The constant one-upsmanship inherent in the weirder-than-weird world of Wii accessories and software will never, ever, ever end. Take this new entrant, due out in Australia next month. It’s called Baby and Me and features, you guessed it, an actual doll with a snap-in port for a Wii controller.
Oh, and there’s also Balance Board support so you can rock your baby to sleep and whatnot.
Your baby reacts by giggling, gurgling or crying through the Wii remote
Ten Baby Mode games including feed baby & send baby to sleep
Eight Play Mode games including rattle, catch, clap & balloons
Balance Board support: rock baby to sleep, burp baby, teach baby to walk
Customise baby with new clothes, accessories and playrooms
If the included baby isn’t to your liking, the game also ships with a pink Wii Remote holster which allows you to attach it to your dog or your little brother or an adult-sized doll – sky’s the limit here, folks. As if there are any limits to the Wii any more.

The wii clearly wasnt in the running with the PS3 or 360 from the git go. They keep releasing crap like this and of course little kids are gonna want it. I know people say the wii won this gens console war but in reality all it did was win over the little tikes and in reality the 360 and PS3 were the only ones really playing next generation while the wii went back to playschool.
The Wii was never meant to be a true “next gen” system as graphics are concerned. But it is still a clear contender versus PS3 and 360 simply because it caters towards a broader audience.
By broader you mean kids, and the elderly? Who gives a flying EFF about them. I am concerned with gamers such as myself in their 20’s or even late teens who enjoy a good shoot em up and bag em game. When people I know say that the wii is awesome those people are usaully little kids or old folks. Nuff said this game is a boring and typical wii like idea. I cant even think of a game that I would like to play on the wii. Last time I played the wii it had that wii motion plus thing on it and everytime anyone played they had to reset the damn thing to be re-calibrated.
Clearly you aren’t their demographic. People use the Wii as a vehicle for party games and other, easy to play games. Yeah, it tends to cater towards the very young or very old, but it takes a strong bite out of the general gamer market too. There have been some decent games on the Wii like Smash Brothers, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, etc that even “teh hardcorez” gamers would enjoy as well. Granted when the 360 and PS3 get solid motion controls things will be different.
I should mention that yes, I do own a Wii, and no, I don’t play it anymore… pretty much ever. I’m not trying to really defend it because I don’t like the direction Nintendo took with it either. I’m just commenting that Nintendo has (had) been leading for a long time for a specific reason and that shouldn’t be discounted when comparing it to the “next gen” systems.
Josh, perhaps you can shoot and bag the baby.
I’ve been wondering. How do you insert the controller into the baby…
Well let me just say this, I bought a 360 close to its launch didnt play it much gave it to my younger brother who lives at home with mom. He loves the damn console like no tomorrow, I also gave him my PSP cuz I never played it. His girlfriend bought him a wii 2 years ago he never used it he gave it to me. I never use it but recently bought my daughter the toystory game she loves it. No matter how hard I try I cant get into the damn thing. I own a PS3 and my PS3 sees hours of usage, as well as my amazing rig (PC for those who dont speak 1337). I know what the wii is about I respect it for what it can do. It can entertain the crap out of kids without making parents worry too much about content. You wanna know what I have used the wii for? I used it to play resident evil 0 the gamecube game on the wii I basically play old gamecube games when I do use it. I must say my dreamcast sees more play time than the wii ever does. I am considering putting the wii in my daughters room. She seems to like it and can spend time playing that and wii fit she loves it. So you see its the kids that love it and unfortunately us parents want them to be happy and excited so we get them the dumb little games that wii comes up with. OMG it’s a vicious never ending circle my daughter will never ever hear or see this doll game ever! LOL muahahahaha NEVER!!!!!!!
All we need now is a blow up doll for lonely men and a way to control it with the remote … @wheeeeee!
