Bad news people, the Samsung TL225 camera that was released this August? Yeah, it’s pretty much a pile of crap. The front screen is off center, so your pictures look like everyone is staring off to the side, the touchscreen response (the only way to control the camera’s settings) is oddly disconcerting, the shutter lag is excessive, and low light sensitivity is non-existent.
Samsung really wants you to like this camera, as evidenced by the massive media campaign that they’ve been running (smiling monkeys, anyone?) but it seems to have been for naught. Wired reviewed the camera today and they’ve rated this one a 4/10. In addition to the laundry list of problems listed above, the image quality is also poor, much less then you would expect from a 12.2 megapixel camera.
Really? horrible ! I just want to buy this one.
coming from a German lens optics company Schneider? The picture quality being bad because of the brand name Samsung…. Bull. What a biased review….
It’s actually a smiling gorilla to be correct. Samsung banked on this being a gimmick product and figured that sales would be lackluster.

And where the hell else do you expect the “off centre” screen to go? On top like a flash bulb?
Regardless – quality and price make it a mediocre compact digital at best – for a similar price range I recommend the Panasonic LUMIX series: either DMC-FX60 or the new DMC-ZX1 line (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/287749/module/general/compare/products/displayResult.html?p=DMC-FX60&p=DMC-ZX1)

i dont think that anyone who has the camera would continue looking at the front screen after they’re first few pictures didnt work
and yeah, where were they meant to put the screen?
this is a pretty biassed review to be fair
this could be a big thing though, other, better camera makers could make better dual screened cameras after the big media attention

I got my samsung camara 2 years ago and after a year it went all curupt, the lense stoped working and it would freeze everytime i went to take a picture the only thing i could do with it was take videos!!! that is going to give samsung a bad rep. if the dont stop making their camaras retarted. I WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG CAMARA AGAIN!!,,,, this is including their phones too.
