Chinese pirates are making a pretty penny installing hacked Win7

fig_pirates_wtArr… Vendors in Beijing’s Zhongguancun market are charging customers $7 to install Windows 7 onto any computer. The hilarious part? The copies of Windows are pirated.

The service takes about 40 minutes and includes a full install as well as a quick crack. Win7 Family Edition costs $11.

I haven’t actually seen any Win7 cracks – it just never came up in my searches – but this points to the possibility that either Win7 is hard to install (which I don’t believe is the case) or that the cracks are quite complex right now, similar to the old tricks you had to play with XP.

  • Umm pretty much every copy of Win7 on da torrents is pre-cracked and activation free…

  • Actually John, the cracks are REALLY simple and easy to use.

I run an Original copy of Windows 7 on my computer, but I decided run a pirated one on a virtual machine, just to check how the crack works.

Its EXACTLY like the Vista, it emulates the BIOS and make the PC think its an OEM version.

I used Windows Update to update to the last version of the software last night, and it still runs flawless.

    SLIC 2.1 FAIL.

  • yeah seriously what are you talking about? Haven’t actually seen any? I’m looking at three, and I haven’t even left the room i was in when i read this post.

  • wow what a bargain for windows7.

  • I have Windows 7 Ultimate for free.
    Used Hazar Beta 2 to activate, it uses the HP certificate and an old Vista Loader, but works fine. 7Loader eXtreme has a lot of option of certificates and loaders. I dislike the 7Loader made for Windows 7 because it shows as other operational system. Will keep with the Vista Loader, no problems so far ;}

    Windows 7 cracks?
What people are using are “activators”

I have win 7 original in my pc and I installed a genuine copy in my laptop, but I didn’t use a key, so I just did a quick search on youtube for “activate windows 7″ and WOW there is a good amount of videos the show how to activate win 7 ultimate and they also give you the link to download the activator, I tried one and as of now, my win 7 copy runs with no problems and it even updates!

  • its not that difficult, but $7 really isnt much to pay to not have to worry about the install and the hassle of moving the data.

when i read the headline i was like wait, people are paying for a cracked copy? but then i saw the $7 price tag and it made sense…

and as far as i know installing pirated copies of 7 is as easy as installing a legit copy.. thats just here say though…

  • I have a couple of legit copies for my home. I swore off pirating once I left college and got a job that paid me money.

The install was the easiest I’ve ever done. Booted into the Win7 beta (ultimate), dropped in the disk (home premium), clicked a couple buttons and walked away for a hour. Done.

  • Haha, $11. It will probably work for about a month before Microsoft shuts the bootleg copies down.

  • The Chinese can’t be trusted.
