I know something about MMA, but I know next to nothing about boxing. Yet even I can laugh about the latest EA Sports prediction, via Fight Night Round 4, that says that Manny Pacquiao will beat Miguel Cotto this weekend. I laugh because saying Pacquiao will win the fight is like saying the sun will rise in the morning. (Now watch Cotto knock out Pacquiao in the first.)
This is just the latest simulation that EA Sports has run with its games. The most recent one, that the Philadelphia Phillies would beat the New York Yankees in seven games didn’t exactly pan out.
EA Sports has also predicted that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win the NBA Finals this year, and that the Pittsburgh Penguins will win the Stanley Cup.
Did EA Sports already do a UEFA Champions League prediction yet? (I imagine after the seeding we’ll see a FIFA World Cup prediction.)
And now we play the waiting game.
what are you talking about..just google the name “miguel cotto” or “pacquiao” you’ll see a lot of articles about how miguel cotto will beat pacquiao…people saying “everyone” thinks that pacquiao will win is so overblown to make themselves sound smart before they get on to their arguments
I just remember the news coverage after the Pacquiao-Hatton fight that was pretty much, “Can anyone beat this man?” Is he over-hyped or what? You tell me. Like I said, I follow MMA much more closely than I do boxing.

Again, Congratulations to the Pacman! He has beaten Miguel Cotto to win his record breaking 7th belt. You can see how Cotto chickened out during the 4-12th round of the fight – The referee see this through and decided to put a TKO on the head of Cotto… so much for his “bad-ass effect”.

I follow MMA and boxing very extensively and just like in all combat sports, Cotto has a punchers chance. Manny has been knocked down before and Cotto is a beast, but I think thats all Cotto has. Pacquiao will box circles around Cotto. I was at Hatton-Pacquiao when the Hitman was supposed to have a realy good shot because of his power and his roughness . . . didn’t turn out so well. I actually thougth that Ricky had a chance, I don’t think anyone in the vacinity of Pacquiao’s weight has a realistic chance anymore. Not even Pretty Boy.
there is no way that pacquiao can beat cotto every man that cotta fought was beaten badly except that mexican Margarito and he had to cheat to beat cotto so if someone gotta cheat to beat cotto thats the onli way and by the way pacquiao lost before and cotto lost once cuz of cheating so be real think about it and i am a fanatic of boxing so thats why i kno
It’s Cotto’s fight to win he’s the Champ. Should Cotto win great that’s what he’s supposed to do against the challenger. But if Pacquiao wins, I don’t wanna hear a single excuse why Cotto lost without giving proper credit to the new Champ. Plain & simple. And bye the way Cotto is not a shot fighter!
If Cotto wins, that’s the last I want to hear about EA Sports “predicting” who’s going to win what.
I just write ‘em because they’re fun. It’s even more fun when the prediction is wrong and we can all take cheap shots at EA.

Manny is just too fast for Cotto. You can’t hit what you can’t touch or see. I see Pacman dancing around him. Trust me you will say again Cotto is too slow… no one else can beat the pacman his speed and power is crazy… just my two cents :-)
People, The fight between Cotto and Judah, everyone predicted a Judah’s win because he was too fast and too strong for Cotto. Then they bring Mosley and then they predicted even a worst lost. People you have to understand that Puertorrican fighters are not fast punchers. We are tough mans that can take a beat down and still knock your ass down hitting your ribs and breaking your liver apart. If you saw the fight against Margarito even with trick gloves Cotto was wining until the 11th round. Good luck Packman we will see you bleeding from your ears and eyes on Saturday night.
come on man! i can tell you know next to nothing about boxing. Manny Pacquiao seems as the logical choice to win the fight, but Cotto is a lot bigger, stronger and as skilled as any opponent Pac-Man has ever faced. A Pacquiao win isn’t like saying the sun will rise tomorrow. Any of the two can win this saturday, that is why it’s a big fight. I wouldn’t be surprised that come fight night, Pacquiao ends up getting the beating of his life. He is a naturally smaller man, and if you’ve seen boxing history, you know what happens to smaller men when facing tough big skilled hombres.

I think I agree with everyones points. I predicted Manny but won’t be surprised at all if Cotto punches a whole through his head. I wanna know what the betting line is going to be, thats the big question. Is there any VALUE in picking one or the other
