This is awesome. I’ll finally be able to record my foreign documentary on the world’s birds!
I will be in southern california, taking a much needed break from my last year of college! This camera would help me document everything soo well if i win!
Pumpkin pie and all the fixins !!!!
me for thanksgiving day i’ll be capturing the pics of people who really wants to enjoy this memorable day with my D3000,if ever…
Going to the Gorge in Hood River, OR with friends, kids, and dogs! Would love to document an amazing place with amazing friends and family!
I will spend Thanksgiving with some American photographer friends in Berlin -I will prepare a Mississippi Mud Pie and take photos of the evening to share with friends and family at home.
I will spend thanksgiving eating and taking time with the family.
I am taking a five hour train back home the day before Thanksgiving. I will bake a cake for one of my best friends whose birthday is on Thanksgiving. After I surprise him by dropping it off at his house Thanksgiving morning, I will return home to help my mom cook and enjoy a great dinner with my huge, loving family!
I will be driving up north into the mountains for a large family dinner. I plan on hiking through the snow and warming my toes by the fire. This camera would be oh-so-nice!
I’ll be taking a family vacation to North Carolina to see the side of the family I don’t get to see too often. And maybe I’ll make some photo puzzle blocks, bookmarks, photo cubes, or photo snow globes for the family since i won’t be seeing them for christmas.
We’ll be having an intimate Thanksgiving with immediate family (usually we have someone or other visiting), but the amount of food will probably remain the same :)
I will be driving to Sacramento to eat Turkey and inevitably be conned into fixing my dad’s computer headaches (he thinks everything is a virus taking over his system). Then it’s off to get a tree and eat more food as is the holiday tradition. Cheers.
Deep Fired Turkey, Oyster Dressing…and Knob Creek on Ice!
Hopefully I win.
Will be spending the day with my mother and brothers debating who has the best digital camera.
i spend the morning deer hunting with family
(girls like to hunt to and i am better than the boys) and then dinner with family in the afternoon
We will travel to the inlaws and have a feast and then hopefully not be too stuffed after we eat to go for a walk/hike. Then when we get back home I will cook our own (fresh from a local farm) 30 pound turkey and have a second Thanksgiving meal; because when you eat turkey elsewhere you don’t get to have any fabulous leftovers!
I will spend thanksgiving eating and spending time with the family.
I will be preparing dinner for over twenty familiy members. Three generations will be present–I cannot wait to capture the memories.
For Thanksgiving I will be spending time with my family, and wish and hoping and praying that I win this camera! If and when I get get this in my hands I will be the most happiest girl in the world =-)
For Thanksgiving I will be spending the (long) weekend with my girlfriend’s family… which means I will be fixing their computers, hanging decorations and trying to avoid awkward situations.
I will be having dinner at my boss’s home. Alas, my current digital camera stinks so I will not be able to take great pictures of the turkey and dressing!
I will be taking imaginary photos with my new D3000
Maybe mine is not the best comment in the world but if I win I will go somewhere to take beautiful pictures of Italian food and send it to you.
My “big plan” will be to ensure I position myself as close to the stuffing and a television showing football as possible. Anything else is ancillary.
We’re going to fry a turkey while avoiding frying the house – hopefully while getting it all in action on a D3000
I will be heading to LA to eat w/my Mexican friend’s family. I will be the awkward white guy in all the photos. Photos hopefully taken with my brand spanking new D3000.
Mmmm, turkey + tryptophan + football at my parents with a silly point & shoot = NOT crazy delicious.
I will be headed to CT to spend it with my extended family – 17 of us around 1 dining room table!
This Thanksgiving I shall be sitting at home watching the deer run through my yard from the hunters that will likely be shooting at them from all around my property.
It is a wonderful time for some photo shoots of the late fall wildlife in Alabama.
I’m planning on driving to Michigan to visit a bunch of my friends. I’ve never been down there and a new camera would be pretty awesome.
I think I’M gonna do some X-mas shopping on the net, and wait before buying a DSRL…. just in case
Visiting with family and cutting down a tree.
Well….I had not given it too much thought but I would like for my family to be with all of our family. This contest has inspired me to take the camera along and collect photographs of everyone. That will make for some great holiday gifts.
As it’s my birthday, I’m planning on sitting at home and eating pie. Like I do every year.
Spending Thanksgiving at home with my family.
I will be spending time with family I haven’t seen in many months. Photos taken with a new camera will be cherished for years to come.
My family and I will be unwinding from my son’s second birthday party just a few days before Thanksgiving. We could really use a DSLR to record him growing up.
This year I plan to go out in the city (Chicago) and take shots of city mood during Holidays and capture the essence of holidays on the street! I would be doing this with my Nikon D40, but a D3000 wouldnt hurt!
Roast a bird slathered in salt pork, whip up a mess of garlic mashed potatoes, bake a golden brown mound of aromatic dressing, load a bowl with chunky, giblet gravy, add casserole dishes filled with butter covered green beans, steaming hot crusty rolls and some kind of cranberry slop and wash it all down with red wine. Nap whilst the in-laws jabber. Wake, waddle back into the kitchen for dessert, either chocolate pudding cake or piping hot apple or cherry pie dripping with vanilla ice cream, or some of all three, and then waddle back into the living room for a little football or a movie while sipping from a hot mug of Kona coffee.
My wife and I are running between our 3 families for Thanksgiving…it would be great to have a DSLR to remember the few seconds we get to talk to each person!
On Turkey Day I will spend all day putting up Christmas lights with my 2 kids. Of course I’ll throw in some major feasting.
I plan to hang out with friends and maybe even do a little help at one of the local shelters serving thanksgiving dinner. Other than that it’ll just be another day since no family near by.
My plans for Thanksgiving are to get together with family that lives local. My plans for the camera are to take lots of pictures of my triplet grandsons to be born this spring.
For Thanksgiving this year, my in-laws will be invading my house and helping care for my new born son (born Nov 4th). I, however, plan to start drinking heavily while hiding behind my iPhone, camera, and video camera, hoping to document some “leverage” for future “discussions.”
My Wife, Sister-in-law and mother-in-law plan to travel to the San Juan Islands in Washington. No, it’s not tropical, but we’ve never been and should be a nice Turkey Day!
I can only imagine how nice the photos could turn out on such a device. Creativity, AWWW! :)
Thanks for the chance. Checking PhotoJoJo now!
Good luck to all and all Good luck! :)
We’re going visit my family and do some skiing in Utah. It’ll also be my wife’s first time cooking a turkey, so she’s freaking out a bit. It’s also baby’s first Thanksgiving, and I’m going to see if he likes stuffing. Should be good times. If only I had something to capture the memories with…
For Thanksgiving i going to DC for the first time. Planing to do alot of sigh-seeing and would be nice to have a camera to take a picture of all the cool places i will be seeing.
Wake up. Watch the parade. Eat like mad. Watch football. Fall asleep.
I have big plans: extended family dinner at a resort (pot luck) with games and Rock Band and other videos games for the whole family. Followed up by heading home with my sweetie to sit and decompress after so much family in so little time! Oh and I’ll be drawing a bit and hopefully taking some photos of the lodge and family with a new camera!
My plans are to spend as much time with my friends as I can.
starting new traditions… we just moved to TX and are planning to feast on a bird up in the hill country
I’m gonna kick my feet up and drink wine while watching bad football (read: the Lions) as my brother slaves over the hot stove all day.
I will then gorge myself and pass out. Big F’N day.
Thanksgiving day will be with boyfriend’s family. Following week, off to NY for late Thanksgiving/early Christmas with my family. My digital camera recently took an accidental swim in a cooler of ice while tailgating. D3000 would take much better family pics, anyway. ;)
My family and I will be driving down to San Diego to my brother’s for Thanksgiving.
I really would like the camera because my 3 year old just started Biddy Soccer and my point & shoot just can’t catch the fast action of 3 year olds.
I am having the family over and cooking a turkey. Would love a better camera to capture the moment.
I will be spending my Thanksgiving with my family, trying to eat my body weight in Turkey. Afterwards, my plan was to go stand in a long line over night in hopes of landing a great deal on a Nikon Camera. After seeing this though, I hopefully will get the chance to recieve this and buy a LCD TV with HDMI cables so I can surf Crunchgear and Photojojo on a HUGE SCREEN!! :)
I will be working in the morning (gotta do the payroll so people can spend their money on Black Friday) then the good stuff, Turkey, Football, Beer and Friends. Would be extra nice to have a sweet camera to document it all.
Just this month, I received an offer for a new job involving a huge promotion and relocation to the warmer weather. As such, this Thanksgiving season will be unusually bittersweet:
* I will be giving thanks for my wonderfully supportive family (who raised me right and taught me the motivation that earned me the new job).
* I will be giving thanks for my wonderful fiance, and her family (which raised her right and has also refrained from killing me for moving their daughter many states away).
* I will be giving thanks for my wonderful friends, all of whom have been supportive and encouraging about the move
* I will be sad as I pack up the Saturday after Thanksgiving to head south (leaving behind the family and friends I value so much) so I can continue building my career in the new job the Monday after Thanksgiving.
* I will be thankful for the new opportunity beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving which will allow me to better support my fiance and the life we will build together.
This will definitely be a Thanksgiving holiday like no other I’ve known. Of course there will be lots of turkey, lots of family, lots of laughter, and a strong desire to wear pants with elastic waistbands to dinner (i.e. room to “grow”).
Good luck in your new job and home. May your life together be full of joy, love, laughter, strength, give and take, compromises and all of life’s Blessings.
i will be in hong kong trying to find good suppliers for my business…
Just staying home with the family, making a fire, eating too much, and dreaming of my new DSLR.
We are having family come to our house for dinner. This year we are going to try the spatchcock method of cooking the turkey and hopefully cut the cooking time in half.
Off to Chicago to spend the holidays.
I will be spending it with my friends.
eat as much as i can..
Plans for turkey day are sleeping in, then cooking the main dish for an “orphans” thanksgiving.
Our “orphans” thanksgiving are all of our friends that do not have family in town, often days like thankgiving are very depressing for them, so we make a party out of it and make sure everyone is invited.
We have an annual kid toss on Thanksgiving, weather permitting. It involves a huge pile of leaves and the youngest members of the family. We get great pictures, but they would be even better with a great camera!!
I’m cooking Thanksgiving Dinner and I would love to finally get some great pictures of my dishes for my food blog!
No thanksgiving in Sweden so I’ll Photograph Ghosts in 3 Steps with Google Reader open for instant Techcrunch entries.
I’ll be planning what pictures to take with my new camera.
