However, CrunchGear and a special surprise guest will offer a full play by play. just called a bunch of apple stores asking them if they have any “unexpected shipments”. most gave a canned answer. one gave the canned answer very very poorly and sounded nervous. one store said i should watch the keynote and call back later.
might not be the tablet but it looks like some updated hardware will be available immediately after the keynote!!!!
Thats awesome, but what could it be? the tablet probably wont be released for a while, and with macworld in february, and with the pc macbooks and imacs and mac mini’s updated in the fall, there isn’t much they would want to update.

Boring…. Can you not be a little objective about this Meghan? The stock has tanked $5 on this…..
Here’s what I intuitively feel will happen:
Initially, the iPad won’t have strong sales and won’t be such a huge deal.
But then, when you bring books, newspapers etc. onto it, and it’s used in schools, etc.
And then when you realize you can put MEDIA onto it, watch MOVIES on it, and add lots of multimedia…
And have internet connectivity
Better than a tablet PC because it’s not only lighter but doesn’t require a stylus, instead allowing you to use multi-touch
This will launch a whole new class of MULTIMEDIA DEVICES. Newsreaders, things you take with you to meetings and on planes.
It’s more than just an iPod touch that won’t fit in your pocket…it’s also an underpowered netbook with no keyboard. It’s the worst of both worlds!
So it’s a giant iPhone? The only good thing I saw thus far is the brushes app.
Is the screen 9.7 inches or the whole device?

Slick apps but for the person who just wants to read a book does the iPad compete with Kindle and other Ebooks? Any mention of publisher contracts?
No cam, no USB, no flash support, $799, so over $4-500 premium just because of the larger screen over the ipod touch. Really?
