As far as I can tell this is some begelled Russian Mr. Wizard showing off the production of mist from a melting piece of dry ice. While the mist is essentially carbon dioxide it’s probably not the best thing to give to kids. However, he does say “Nie boj sie,” meaning “Don’t be afraid,” when he shoots a stream of it into everyone’s faces, which suggests he’s been huffing this stuff for years with no ill-effects. Why? Триглав only knows.
Anyone speak enough Russian to tell us why this guy is offering CO2 facials?
Thanks, Alex!

wow… that’s not awkward at all.

always keeping it classy, eh?
Actually the “mist” is not the carbon dioxide coming from the dry ice. Is instead a cloud of water vapor made visible by the evaporating dry ice (that’s why you see so much more of it when dry ice is in water). The resulting mist is not any more harmful than a cloud in the sky or fog on the ground!
fair enough. but it’s still funny.
It should be a mixture of carbon dioxide and water vapor. As the dry ice goes from a solid to a gas it expands, filling up the container and that is why it is coming out the spout.
Right, but carbon dioxide is not in itself visible – what you SEE is the water droplets. The pressure from the expanding carbon dioxide is what forces the mist out, but not in any concentration to be any more harmful than the carbon dioxide being released from a carbonated soda pop.
The video is taken out of context, but what I understood is that they taste how the gas used to produce soda tastes like. The adult female says “good buy guys” before she tries, after she has tried adds that it tastes like soda.
Then the presentor says the gas (in the soda indeed) makes you feel better, and make you feel hungry..
Gahhh video has been removed!
