It’s crazy how the slightest little hint of something starts all the rampant speculation about Apple’s product development. This is the third clue that the next generation of iPad will have a camera, if not video capability. It certainly explains the stuff that was found in the SDK.

You might want to sit down for this one. Are you ready? Saving Private Ryan is coming to Blu-ray. Yep, the 1998 Academy award-winning movie is finally coming to Blu-ray on May 4th. Expect the ad machine to fire up some time in April, since you’re going to want to buy another version of this movie as well, right?

Lian Li “spider” case seen creeping around Taiwan

Beware the coming of the spider! This strange creature was seen in a back alley, eating cats, small dogs, and any memory chips it happens to find. It has the capability to disguise itself as the Lian Li T1 Pitstop, which is a Mini-atx case with room for a full size power supply. Of course, no word on pricing, availability, or even if we’ll see this case in the US, but it’s a fun video to watch.

One of the most frustrating things about using a projector is setting up all the cords. You have to connect the video, probably the audio (at least in a business setting) and get the whole thing up and running. If you have a Mac, life gets even more complicated due to the lack of an HDMI or DVI port, which is the industry standard for projectors. InFocus is fixing all that with their new DisplayLink wireless technology.

I can’t believe how great this idea sounds. Instead of using the old-school (as in patented in 1887) drill technology to remove cavities, researchers are developing a method of using something called cold plasma to destroy the bacteria. I love the idea because I absolutely hate the sound of that damnable drill.

Here’s a pretty easy DIY project, for someone so inclined. I’ll be honest, after checking around a bit on the price of commercial teflon mouse pads, I’m not sure why you’d want to take the time to make one. Essentially the project is this: take a teflon surface like a cookie sheet, baking pan, or skillet, and then modify it to the right size, and then finish the edges so you don’t injure yourself.

Still waiting on picking up the Blu-ray player? I held off too until I saw one of these deals, and picked one up a few months ago. If you’ve been holding off until after the holidays, here’s your chance to pick up a 1080p Blu-ray player for a good price.

When is a qwerty keyboard a bad idea? When it’s on the Samsung E61 e-book reader. The problem with this thing isn’t just the ugly keyboard, or the fact that it’s obviously “inspired” by the Kindle, it’s that the Samsung E6 looks promising.

Get ready home shoppers, Alienware is going to be paying you a visit at 1am Eastern time on the 6th. Apparently, showing up on geeky TV shows and at Blizzcon isn’t enough, so Alienware is going to be selling it old school: on QVC late nights.

Spawn Labs (remember them from TC50?) just started shipping their HD-720 gaming hub. The device allows for two way communication between the player and their console, enabling them to play remotely via a computer, assuming you have a broadband connection.

Here’s your chance to change history, and influence the future. The makers of the Pleo are holding a vote to decide exactly what color the new Pleo should be when they change it later this year. Oh, and if you like the original color scheme, you can get free shipping until the end of February.

Gateway announced their new desktop models today. They added five new systems, including a touchscreen, and two high end gaming machines. We managed to get our hands on their new basic system, the SX2840, and you can read our review here.

Gateway’s new SX2840 is an ideal system for someone who needs a good basic computer. It’s designed to be a small form factor rival to the high end, high cost systems currently on the market. The new SX2840 also hits that mythical sweet spot of price and performance, making it the ideal system for someone looking for a combination of price and performance.

I’m not sure exactly how useful these things are, but as a concept they are definitely cool. Flat pack furniture, sure. But I’m not so sure about flat pack vehicles, these look like they might have some structural issues.

As much as I love digital watches (and watches that take some work to read), there is something comforting about an analog dial. And the 01 watch takes analog dials to a whole new turning disk level.

Creative is finally giving up some details on the World of Warcraft headset that they showed off at BlizzCon and CES. The price is a bit higher then we’d all like, with an MSRP of $159.99 for the wireless version, and $119.99 for the wired version. They do look cool though, I like the choice between the Horde and Alliance artwork lit up on the sides.

Tokyoflash and CrunchGear are teaming up for a really cool contest, giving you a chance to win one of the most unique wristwatches on the market today. Which watch are you going to win? Well, that’s the cool part – we don’t know! More details after the jump.

Apparently all is not well in e-book land. In an unusual move, publisher Macmillan took out an ad in the Publishers Marketplace magazine protesting the tactics being used by Amazon regarding pricing. The issue is Macmillan is trying to raise prices to $15.00 and up, and Amazon is trying to lock the prices at $9.99 and up per title.

Ahh Steve. You can always be depended on to serve up a healthy dose of crazy. It’s just fortunate that people put up with your own special brand of crazy that no other CEO could put up with. For example, at a company wide Town Hall, Steve Jobs had some very special things to say about Adobe and Google and their business practices.

Looking at the iPad SDK, programmers are starting to say that the new version of the iPhone OS will support video calls, file downloads, and some sort of multitasking. There’s also several other features in the SDK that won’t work with the iPad, but would be applicable to the iPhone in it’s current configuration.

This particular DIY project makes sense. It’s been proven that in order to increase the MPG on your motorcycle (or scooter in this case), all you need to do it add a cowling. Cyclists use this concept in increase speed, the solar powered cars use this, it makes sense. That still doesn’t mean that you should do it, at least, not in this color.

Samsung announced recently that they will be mass producing 3D HDTVs. They are the first manufacturer to actually come out and say so, but I doubt they will be the last given the sheer volume of 3D technology we saw at CES. Samsung stated they will be producing three sizes initially, in 40-inch, 46-inch, and 55-inch screens. All three sizes will support the current 3D Active Glasses, which is currently the industry standard.

So it begins; bag designer Tom Bihn announced today the release of two new iPad specific products, a messenger bag and a dedicated sleeve style case.
