Yes, that ILM, the same one that does the effects for the actual Star Wars films.

Things just don’t seem to be going very well for Sony, at all. After all the console bashing, the shortages and consumers being simply fed up with all the crap Sony has been feeding them you’d think Sony would get their act together from here on out. Well, just to pile on the heaps of bad news here’s some more:
MeriStation is reporting that Ken Kutaragi recently admitted that supply problems for Japan and North America could force the European PS3 launch to be delayed until May — which would mean that Japanese and American consumers might have their systems nearly six months before the eager gamers in the rest of the world.
MeriStation is actually a Spanish gaming system that has no direct ties to Sony, so none of this information is confirmed. If the rumor does turn out to be true, we’re going to see even more pissed off European gamers. It seems as though Sony isn’t even trying anymore. Maybe they’re disappointing for the world for the publicity? Remember, earlier this week, every single PS3 preorder at Gamestop sold out a few hours in.
Rumor: PS3 Delay In Europe [engadget]

Looks like Dyson has done it again. Their new Root 6 uses the same air chamber design as their vacuums and doesn’t lose suction when filled with filth and muck – I can attest to this, as we’ve had the Dyson Ball for a while after picking it up for a song at Best Buy. The name and shape are kind of creepy, but it looks like it’s all sucking all the time with this baby.
The Root is rechargeable and will be available October 23 for about $149.99.

Thanks to some excellent backdoor maneuvering by our crack ad team, we’ve lined up some excellent sponsors, including SoonR, an Ajax-tastic mobile desktop system that gives you full access to your Outlook email and desktop from any phone browser.
So that means we’re on for tomorrow at 7pm. Here’s a post re-cap.
Join us for our first reader meet-up! The event will coincide with Digital Life in New York and we’re planning giveaways, an open bar, and the chance to meet and kiss CrunchGear editors John, Blake, and Josh.

UPDATE We’re moving it to the Friday the 13th, after work. Makes it scarier!

iLounge is reporting that a new, red iPod nano will be announced tomorrow on the Oprah Winfrey show by Bono himself. The red iPod will be a part of the Product RED program that is currently literally painting cities red to battle AIDS. The episode was apparently taped earlier this week and featured Bono and a 4GB “iPod nano RED.” It’s supposed to cost the same $199, with $10 going to the Global Fund. I don’t doubt this rumor’s true, because why wouldn’t this happen?
Gamestop sent out emails earlier today letting everyone who signed up for the Nintendo Wii preorder notification know that preorders be available tomorrow, Friday the 13th. Like we stated yesterday, you probably won’t need to preorder a Nintendo Wii due to so many consoles coming out on launch day. Still, there will be bit of Nintendo fans out there that are going to go and preorder the Wii anyway (I know I am).
Gavin (also a Nintendo fan) of CrunchGear, has notified me that he won’t be able to make a Wii preorder for himself tomorrow. He’s asking for somebody in Chicago to help him out. If you, or someone you know, can be a kind and gentle human being and place a preorder for him (he’ll pay for it) – email him at gavinrobinson@gmail.com. He thanks you.
