The Universal Remote Control Digital R50 universal remote takes the best of today’s remotes and makes the setup even easier without PC setup. The remote can still do all the goodie macro themes but everything is setup on the remote without a PC or an Internet connection required. Still, if you have ever setup a [...]

One of the biggest cons for the Kindle, and most e-ink devices for that matter, is the lack of backlighting. Some call it a feature but others, like me, find it annoying at best. There are numerous lighting solutions for e-book readers and Periscope has another to add to the fold. The company integrated a LED reading [...]

This review might be cheating the CrunchGear 300 a little bit, since it’s covering three products in one post, but they’re all from the same manufacturer and all do pretty much the same thing, so it makes sense to review them together. Read on for information about an LCD and two OLED digital picture frames [...]

As part of Apple’s big announcement today, they have a new Cinema Display — long overdue. This one sounds really nice, which is good because the screen scene is a competitive field right now. Here are the stats:

NEC has a new workplace-type monitor in the EA241WM. It’s billed as an “enterprise” monitor but if you really wanted, I bet you could sneak one into your home. It’s a 24-inch widescreen LCD with 1920×1200 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m² brightness, and a magical base that allows it to tilt, swivel, and pivot.
There’s [...]

Environmentally friendly products are all the rage these days and Dell’s determined to help with LED back-lighting. Never mind that retooling production lines and importing the “green” material generally carries a higher carbon footprint than the current material, but still, it’s nice to feel like Captain Planet sometimes.

LMAO! RGBXYZ! I think we need a couple more acronyms in that headline. It seems LG’s Red-Green-Blue Light Emitting Diode technology is coming to laptops. Until now it’s been limited to TVs and monitors because of production issues, but it looks like we may be seeing more of them soon. RGB LCDs feature better color [...]
