I’ve just left the Nokia World 2008 keynote, in which the new products and services were announced, like the Nokia N97, Nokia Maps, and Nokia Messaging. The presentation was interesting, and highlights Nokia’s vision for mobile communications. Read on for a quick summary and some thoughts.

Trust fund babies have another gigantic HDTV option now that Runco is shipping the VW-100HD. The rear-projection system has the look of a plasma when installed but at a dramatically lower price of $39,995 - Panasonic’s 103-inch plasma runs nearly twice that. Installation is where it gets a tad hairy though.

Quick Version: The idea behind the Clarity C900 mobile phone is sound – big keys, bright display, loud ringer, emergency call button – but the interface might be a bit feature-heavy and confusing for most elderly users.

Once again AT&T is offering free Wi-Fi access at Starbucks and McDonald’s hotspots in the US. The system is fairly simple: just type in your AT&T phone number when you fire up your mobile browser get 24 hours of connectivity automatically.
