The Harmony One is a solid remote and pretty much everyone digs it. The design is solid, the setup easy enough, and the price about right. However, the remote is missing one key feature in a higher-end remote: RF capabilities. The new Harmony 900 solves this problem. Read More

Atom-based Eee PC 901 on June 3rd for $650
by Doug Aamoth on May 16, 2008

asus_eee_900 DigiTimes is reporting that Asus will release an Intel Atom version of its new 8.9-inch screen Eee PC (it’ll be called the 901) on June 3rd for “below $650″. Aside from the Atom chipset, it’ll have some other upgrades too; Bluetooth, “metal alloy parts to the keyboard and hinge” and the touchpad will have a metallic border. Mmmm, metal-y.

Aside from those differences, everything else should pretty much be the same as what you’d find on the currently-available Eee PC 900, except that “the Eee PC 901 will replace the Asustek logo with an Eee logo at the bottom of the display and on the top of the lid, while the Linux version of the Eee PC 901 will have more software applications added to it.”

CNET UK reviews Asus Eee PC 900, gives it an 8.7

Good news for those of you waiting for the Eee PC 900 to be released; it looks to be a winner. CNET UK’s Rory Ried took a look at it and gave it an 8.7 out of 10. He liked the bigger 8.9-inch 1024×600 resolution screen, the built-in 1.3-megapixel camera, and the wide-aspect multi-touch trackpad, and the full one gigabyte of RAM.

The keyboard apparently hasn’t changed at all from the Asus Eee PC 701, so typing is still a bit cumbersome and it also uses the same Celeron 900 processor as before just as Intel’s new Atom processors are getting ready for production. Those opting for the Windows XP version will get a 12GB hard drive while Linux users will get 20GB.
