Quick note for all you BlackBerry Storm users out there: Starting today Verizon is pushing Slacker Radio out to all the Storms network wide. Why? Well, Verzion worked out a deal with Slacker to integrate V Cast into the app. So when a song is playing on Slacker, there will be a button which will allow you to purchase the song via V CAST Music with Rhapsody catalog. Neat, I guess.
BlackBerry users rejoice! Tabbed browsing is probably coming with the next major OS release. We say probably ’cause it’s currently included in the beta release, but that doesn’t mean for sure that it will make the cut. Anyway, we would love to see tabbed browsing or something that will efficiently allow us to run multiple browser windows.

Looking at a T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520? You may want to hold off for a bit as it might be available soon in a full range of colors including silver instead of just black. Plus, we hear that the 8520 might be available in even more colors soon – think BlackBerry Pearl color options. CrackBerry is reporting that the silver color option will be available in early August and the other colors will come later down the road.
BlackBerrys are generally durable devices. I had a BlackBerry 7130e for almost three years until my son gave it a bath in a cup of ginger ale. This dad’s BlackBerry somehow survived a trip into a hot oven. It needed a new case afterwards, but it still works alright.
Couple of weeks ago, like a good dad, I was baking with my 10 year old daughter. I couldn’t find my Blackberry afterwards and was looking everywhere. Tried calling my number etc. When the cookies were done, I opened the oven and found my BlackBerry on the cookie tray: well cooked!!!
If you’ve been biting your nails off anticipating the launch of the Blackberry Tour, you probably want to visit a psychiatrist ASAP. But you can also be happy to know that Verizon Wireless just announced that they’ll be releasing the Tour on July 12th. The Tour provides anyone hell-bent on Verizon (like people who actually want their phone to make and receive calls) a good multimedia phone in the $200 price range.
It’s not available yet, but BGR got his hands on the latest build of RIM’s upcoming update to BlackBerry Messenger. The following are new features to the PIN-based messeging system: Avatar support, GPS location integration, Proximity sensor, Set conversation subjects, and Homescreen support.
It hasn’t been a secret for months, but Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam has confirmed that a multitude of devices from RIM, Palm and Android-based devices are coming to the nation’s largest network in the next six months.
It’s not surprising as we’ve seen these sorts of acts in the past, but Verizon is really pushing it by comparing the Pre to the BlackBerry Storm. I’ve had my Pre for just a few short days and I’m already itching to ditch my Curve and skip on over to Sprint for the Pre. Anyway, hit the jump to check out all the Verizon propaganda.
The BlackBerry Tour 9630 could go down in history as the most leaked cell phone ever. The phone isn’t suppose to hit carriers until mid-July and we already know everything about it after this latest leak. Heck, there have been full reviews done of the upcoming BlackBerry. In case you missed those, or just want a handy-dandy spec list, here ya go.
Huh, this could work out. Remember Dash? It was that the little GPS start-up company that made the innovative PND that had a monthly subscription, but also routed you around traffic issues through the magic of the cloud. You probably never saw one in person because, well, no one wants a GPS with a monthly fee. Anyway, RIM, the makers of BlackBerrys of course, just purchased the company.
First it was AT&T mouthing off about carrying the Palm Pre and now Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam is stating that VZW will begin selling the Palm Pre “over the next six months or so…” Also mentioned was the Storm 2 by McAdam, which will also go on sale in the same time frame. Side note: Palm shares went up 11 points while Sprint’s went down 3 points after this announcement.

So you want a BlackBerry on AT&T, but not the Bold. We get it; the Bold is a bit expensive, a bit chunky, and seriously – who really needs three Gs? You’d be perfectly fine with one or two Gs, but no one seems to offer that. If that sounds like you, you should be set come Friday. On May 22nd, AT&T will be releasing the slightly less portly, slightly less expensive, and significantly less 3G’d BlackBerry Curve 8900.

Love it or hate it, the BlackBerry Storm is getting a followup. This thing has been spending a whole lot of time around the rumor mill as of late, and now it’s made its on-camera debut.
Praise jeebus! I knew this day was coming. Images of a purported T-Mobile 3G BlackBerry surfaced late last night, but it’s unclear whether it’s the rumored Onyx or Driftwood. If it is a T-Mobile device then it’s probably the Driftwood since it’s the only one that supposedly supports UMA. Contrary to what you see in the image, BGR says the Driftwood aka 9600 will have an optical trackpad and that it will drop some time in September.

We’re big fans of the Skyfire browser around these parts, largely due to its ability to chew up and spit out Flash video on Windows Mobile and Symbian handsets. When we heard that Skyfire was coming to BlackBerry a few months ago, we got all kinds of giddy. With this latest leak, we can hardly stand the wait.

Here it is, folks, at long last. Its been over a month and a half since details of Facebook v1.5 for BlackBerry spilled all over the place, but it’s now available for anyone and everyone with a compatible ‘Berry.
We’re not the biggest fans of the BlackBerry Storm. Apparently that’s ’cause it was RIM’s first touchscreen device and we, as early adopters, should have expected this type of buggy device per the CEO. Sure, it’s a first-gen phone, but we expected more from Research in Motion. Didn’t you? Laptop Mag sat down with the CEO of RIM who spoke frankly about the craptastic Storm.
I haven’t been getting e-mails to my BlackBerry in the last couple hours and a quick survey on Twitter reveals a couple of other folks haven’t been getting their e-mails either. Friends not on Twitter have been complaining about it as well.
What’s up, T-Mobile? Looks like folks on AT&T and Verizon haven’t been getting e-mails on their BlackBerrys as well.
Update: I just got a flood of e-mails on my BB, so I’m assuming everyone is getting them as well. No clue what happened, but I’m glad to see that annoying flashing red LED again.
Update 2: Looks like service is still sporadic throughout the land. After my initial flood of emails, I haven’t received any in the last 45 minutes or so.

I want to jump kick the back of this dude’s head.
