Want DivX Pro Mac for free? Of course you do, who doesn’t? Today is special for some reason because the folks at DivX have lost their collective minds.

Head on over now and download Pro. Not only do you get the DivX player, but you also get DivX Converter and DivX Pro Codec. Make sure you do it today because it won’t be free tomorrow. Thank me later. Oh and Windows users are privy as well.

Get it while you can: DivX Pro Mac is free, today only [Macenstein]

Hackers Hack Hacked Apple TV to Play DivX

What if I told you that somewhere on this island there’s a very small box that can play DivX video?

Clever clever hackers! Some clever folks have opened up their Apple TVs, taken out the hard drive, and installed an SSH client as well as some video playing codecs. The result? An Apple TV that plays DivX, albeit with some difficulty.

They’ve also discovered that the device runs a stripped down version of OS X, which is essentially BSD and Linux. Clearly, the hack isn’t for everyone, but it’s still great to see that the Apple TV is actually quite open and just waiting for hacks, hacks, and more hacks.

one of our favorite products from last year), the 10-megapixel digi features a 2.5-inch LCD and an intelligent zoom function that rivals the image clarity of an optical zoom. Shake Reduction is also implemented to steady that nervous twitch you have.

If you’ve been looking for a DivX-certified digital camera, then you are in luck, as the A30 has such certification. The A30 can capture up to one hour of high-quality DivX video on a 1GB media card.

Hello Wii Video 9

Wii Video 9 is a homebrew app for the Nintendo Wii that allows you to play videos on your console. The app converts video files like DivX and .avi into MPEGs, which you can then drop onto a SD Card, all you have to do after that is insert the card into your Wii, navigate to the content you want, and you’re ready to roll.

You can download the app here, courtesy of Red Kawa. Watching videos on your Wii may not seem too interesting at the moment, but the fact that a homebrew app like this was created so quickly for the Wii certainly is. I’m predicting we’re going to start to see the Wii doing all kinds of crazy things come Q1 2007. I’m just waiting for some kind of DS homebrew app that will let me play Elite Beat Agents on my Wii.
