We’ve got to run to the Ubisoft event, but the last thing up from the EA press conference is this cinematic trailer for their new semi-MMO sandbox-style crime game. You and 99 other people, slugging it out cops and robbers style.

When I first saw the poster, I kind of thought Brutal Legend was going to be like Guitar Hero with blood and guts… but it actually looks to be a pretty fun-looking third person action romp. Plus it’s got the voice talents of Jack Black, Ozzy Osborne, and other legends of rock, so you know it’s at least going to be… well, I guess you don’t really know anything at all. But watch the trailer and the little skit and have yourself some good times.

Those crazy Star Wars types. Always like to make a scene. The music came on with no warning so I missed the first part of the fanfare, but I sure didn’t miss the two dozen lightsaber-bearing eunuchs (I think) that accompanied the Bioware and LucasArts dudes on the stage. They announced that The Old Republic will be the first-ever fully voiced MMORPG. That’s a lot of voice acting, and they say it might even be the most in any single project ever.

Aside from that we got to see the first cinematic trailer, which gives literally no idea what gameplay might be like, yet is totally awesome.

Fresh from EA’s press conference, we’ve got hot footage of The Saboteur, with the titular character racing around in a black & white Paris and blowing up Nazis. It’s kind of like Grand Theft Auto meets Hitman meets Sin City. Let’s hope it’s as good as any of those. The city itself isn’t always monochrome; it colors up as you free the sections of the city from Nazi occupation. Lots of brothels too as you can see, just like the real Paris.

Microsoft has just announced that some new features are coming the Xbox 360 at E3. Facebook and Last.fm integration into the Xbox Live dashboard are two of them. The game Metal Gear Solid is another. But the one they seem to be touting the most right now? Twitter!

Yes, it seems the software giant, who has made some nice moves in the gaming space has just as big of an obsession with Twitter as everyone else. You will apparently be able to see tweets and post new tweets from the console starting soon.

Who saw this coming? Konami—that is to see, Mr. Hideo Kojima himself—just announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the Xbox 360. That’s what all those little clues were about.

Time sure does fly. It’s been a whole year since Devin and I popped our E3 cherries and we find ourselves back in LA for what is expected to be a return to glory for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Not much going on today except for a few parties, but I did pass the convention center on my way to the hotel and noticed that Ubisoft and Sony dropped crazy money on signage.

I’ll preface this by saying that it is GamePro’s 20th Anniversary and with that they’d like to invite one lucky bloke to help them cover E3 in LA next month. The rules seem pretty simple and if I weren’t already going I’d definitely be entering. This year’s E3 will be the kickass E3 from years ago and not the debacle Devin and I had to endure last year. It’s not all fun and games, though. You actually have to work the event and pump out some stories while you’re there. Rough life, right? Get over it. You get to play some sweet AAA titles before EVERYONE else.

The winner will be announced on May 25th and you, along with a guest, will be shipped out to LA for the start of E3 on June 1st. Hit the jump for the official rules and a complete list of prizes.

Steve Wiebe’s attempt to overthrow Billy Mitchell as the Donkey Kong world record holder has been well documented over the years and at last year’s E3 he came extremely close, but fell short by 50,000 points. Billy Mitchell currently holds the record at 1,050,200 points, which he set in 2007.

I’m just putting it out there, kids. Look at the zoomed in view of the E3 invite I just got from SplitFish. They don’t make anything that involves two controllers being flailed around. Unless, of course, you’re some sort of magician that can create hard surfaces for the FragFX mouse while you monkey around.

Update: See, kids, this is what happens when it’s a slow news day and your mind begins to wander. Those vivacious ladies in the SplitFish E3 invite are two of the Pussycat Dolls and they’re actually horsing around with v1 FragFX controllers. Kind of hard to tell, I know.
