Heads up, people. Nintendo is dropping another Zelda on us, and it looks a bit different than usual. Last I checked, Link didn’t have a pet train to ride around, nor did he even exist in an age capable of supporting steam technology. But hey, I’m willing to roll with it.

Hey! We’ve just received word from out team at the Game Developers Convention that WiiWare will now support launching games from SDHC cards. That’s as of the latest update, which is available for download today. And there’s more from the big Nintendo press conference!

Initially unveiled way back in September of last year, the “Gametrak Freedom” motion sensing remote control for Xbox 360 and the PS3 has undergone a bit of a makeover and is currently on display at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco.

Microsoft announced today that they are making it easier to develop applications and games for the Xbox platform, with new tools in their XNA Game Studio kit. The updated kit includes better video and audio API’s, which will allow more games using the Avatars and LIVE Party content to be developed. Microsoft also stated that their improved Xbox 360 Development and Test Kit hardware will have improved debugging memory, which will allow developers to produce games faster and more effectively.

A very interesting gaming service called OnLive was introduced at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco last night. OnLive consists of a small browser plug-in that lets you play games online, with all the heavy lifting done by OnLive’s servers – effectively meaning that if the service can live up to its promises, you’d have yourself a gaming platform that never gets obsolete and can be played on lower-end hardware.

Is there room for yet another next gen console? Maybe not in the US or Japan, but how about Brazil? Upstart console makers Zeebo are counting on the fact that they can get into developing countries that maybe Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have ignored.

When we see a release that warrants a second look, we’ll definitely try and track down the product for you at the show. iZ3D announced today that they are releasing their new “linear polarized” glasses.

Just a quick note to folks to let you know that Devin and I will be in San Francisco this week for the Game Developers Conference. If you’re in or around San Francisco and would like to meet up then give us a shout in comments. We’re not sure what to expect, but we’ll be reporting live from Moscone starting on Wednesday with Nintendo President Satoru Iwata’s keynote followed by Hideo Kojima’s (you know, Metal Gear Solid guy) keynote on Thursday.
