LG has announced a new Windows Mobile 6.5-based smartphone, the eXpo. But unlike other 6.5 smarties on the market, the newest member of the LG family is packing just about everything but the kitchen sink including a 1GHz processor, a built-in fingerprint sensor, and an optional Pico Projector. Maybe they should have named it the LG SwissArmy Knife Phone.

Skip the Black Friday crowds and head over to Amazon for a sweet price on a LG Blu-ray player. But just like most other Black Friday deals, this model is stripped down and isn’t for everyone.

Let’s talk about the word “unveiled” on gadget sites. Unveiled is a weasel world. It means “revealed” and suggests that the company in question is showing off something that it will make soon. It is used at CES, for example, with CES Unveiled where you see product that will be announced ahead of time and then actually released much later. So in this case it is more a revelation of things to come, in the biblical sense, and less an actual revelation.

It’s all about the home network storage these days. As more and more companies jump into the ring with their products, it’s all about the added features. It’s not enough just to build a basic device these days, everyone wants added features. LG is throwing their hat into the ring with the N2R1.

Oh man, Devin is going to be upset. He is enamored with the LG GD910, but I have a feeling that the price is a tad too rich for him. There was a rumor that it was going to be pricey and sure enough, Orange France is going to sell it with at €899 ($1,290) on-contract.

Good news, pre-paid fans! You’ve got a new handset coming to your corner of the market. We can’t promise anything for sure, but we’ve got good reason to believe that Virgin Mobile will be getting the LG Rumor 2 sometime in the coming weeks.

You know, we would write a nice, well thought out post about the LG LX290. We’d make a joke or two at its expense for being a bit on the ugly side, point out the 1.3mp camera, and then come up with some way to make this thing sound intriguing.

HDTVs are increasingly becoming Internet appliances as much as they are televisions. The latest trend from all the major manufacturers are to include widgets and local network access which is pushing the limits of the custom CPUs. This is why LG has shifted focus away from making the central CPU itself, and outsourced the work to ARM.

LG has reportable chosen the ARM11 MPCore Processor to do the dirty in upcoming HDTVs. This chip is a multi-core CPU that, along with the ARM Mali graphics chip, should eliminate everyone’s main complaint about on-TV widgets: lag.

New Jersey-based Universal Display and LG are showcasing a futuristic OLED display that can be worn like a wrist watch at the SID Display Week 2009. The bendable color display has been jointly developed by the two companies.

It was first shown to the general public back in February, and now LG gave us some more concrete info about their LG-GD900, which is – according to LG – the world’s first cell phone featuring a transparent keypad. The aptly (code-)named Crystal is due out in as much as 40 different countries starting next month already.

LG has launched an amusing (and for some, useful) application that enables you to translate over 2000 words teens tend to use when they’re sending text messages to regular English, and the other way around. The tool is called DTXTR and the aim is to let is keep you in the know of what these kids are txting bout these days, xactli.

Frankly, there are a lot of basic words that can’t be converted to ‘teen text’ with the tool yet, but you can always submit a term for inclusion in the glossary. And if you want to test your own mad txt skills, you can do a little quiz on the site to see if you’re up with the times or not.

There’s nothing really inherently exciting about a shot of the back of a phone. To be honest, there’s not really anything about the LG enV3 that gets us excited. But if you look real close at this picture right here, you’ll see one previously unleaked gem that might get you a bit more interested in this phone. Maybe. Probably not.

For just a few hours early this morning, a post heralding the LG Viewty II could be seen at LG’s official German blog. Apparently it went up too early, because it was pulled down within hours – because that somehow fixes things.
